   This house has such a lovely homely feel about it. It's still lived in by the family hence why it's only open mainly during the week. It's run by some very friendly and helpful volunteers who really make for a special visit. There's lot's of rooms to explore. The gardens are a lovely place to chill. Don't miss the small summer gardens which are tucked away. They offer lovely sea views. There's a nice cafe selling light lunches and delicious cakes. The hot chocolate is very good also.

   A fine house with lots of family portraits dating back to 1553 including three by Sir Joshua Reynolds. There are extensive lawns with views down to the river. There is a good Cafe and two sets of toilets nearby (one set is open to the public and doesn't need entry) Dogs are restricted from the house, Summer garden and main lawn.

   Another wonderful NT property with plenty to see. And after closing it turns back into a family home. Amazing. This property is now only open 3 days a week so check opening times before going.

   Stunning house and gardens. It has a big car park, so no waiting around. The staff volunteers are not only knowledgeable about the history of the house, family and gardens, but friendly and approachable. The garden is enormous and ideal for family picnic. They do have a National Trust cafe. Today we couldn't see the bedrooms as not open to the public. Next time.

   Fantastic period stately home, set in the most beautiful grounds overlooking the River Lynher to the North. Beautiful gardens that are immaculately maintained by the host of volunteers responsible for the upkeep by the National Trust. Well worth a visit.

   Nice house, bit different as family still live there. Great big gardens for walking and lots of activities set out around the grounds, good for the kids. Incredible 250 yr old walnut tree!

   Wow so many paintings but a lovely couple of hours wandering around the house and grounds. Lots of games for kids to play with in the grounds plenty of space and views for a picnic. Small cafe there too for snacks and drinks. Worth a visit.

   Visited with my partner, we are a younger couple, compared to most people visiting. We were watched by the staff continuously which made us feel uncomfortable. This isn’t the first national trust property we have been made to feel like this. We have an annual membership and it really puts a dampener on the experience. The grounds are lovely but make sure you check online the grounds are open before you visit.

   Beautiful house and garden. Great for long walks, picnic or run around. All events we've been to were really good. Kids loved it. It's a private property so checking opening time is needed, as they aren't open as most of the national trust places.
