took my dog here last week and they were absolutely wonderful with her. she typically gets a bit anxious at the vet, but they handled her with such calmness this time. it was great to feel like they truly listened instead of hurrying us along.

Went there today to pick my pets flee and worm tablets up, I questioned why the prescription had changed, and was met with a rude response from the receptionist. She back chatted me, and basically called me a liar, so I’m going to cancel my monthly subscription and move somewhere else where my business is appreciated! The last time I was there I heard one of the reception staff being rude on the phone to a customer, now it’s happened to me, since Ed the main vet left this practice really has gone down hill.

Awful experience with this practice. After taking my clearly poorly/in pain Guinea pig there I was told that they didn’t know what was wrong with him. They prescribed pain relief and critical care and I was charged £84. After they had taken payment from me they then informed me that they did not have the critical care in stock and I would need to come back the following day after 11am once they have their delivery. During the night my Guinea pig rapidly declined and I have been advised by another more compassionate pet care provider and not a money grabbing service that it was vital that if my pet stood a chance of survival he should have been given that immediately. The least this practice could have done was to in the first place not charge me for something they did not have in stock and alternatively rang another practice to source the medication my pet needed to survive. It was the most heartbreaking night/morning watching my pet suffer and eventually passing away in my arms, I’m absolutely devastated. When I rang the practice to inform them, and to say that it was wrong to charge me this amount to not even provide me with what he needed to survive was disgusting and their attitude was pretty much the same ..disgusting. I would advise anyone with smaller pets definitely avoid this practice.

Normally I have nothing but praise for the vets, but this visit was not what I'm used to. A vet I've not seen before who didn't read any info about my dog before seeing us, which isn't helpful when your dog has an ongoing issue and you have to start at the beginning. Hopefully next time will be more positive

I would highly recommend Vets4Pets Madeley, Nathan and the team are very professional, kind and caring and took extra special care with my 11 year old collie after having dental surgery. After going in for a check up as he has a heart murmur Nathan said that his skin condition around his mouth was related to his poor dental hygiene (which was never mentioned at my previous vets) and recommended he had some bad teeth removed and a full clean which was a concern due to his heart condition as he needed a general anaesthetic but they took such care in him and me as I was extremely nervous about it! He was absolutely fine during the surgery thanks to their special care and made a speedy recovery. Everything was explained in detail and this put me at ease before, during and after. You always get greeted with a friendly smile when you arrive and everyone is personable and makes you feel calm during a stressful time. Thank you Nathan and team, keep up the amazing work

I appreciate all the help Ed has given since I first got rex. Rex has had multiple issues and he has always been well taken care of and the staff at vets4pets really helped with the insurance side of things. I am very comfortable with going to the vets and knowing they will make him better. The eye surgery that was done on rex has made him so much more comfortable and looks lovely.

Took our 12 week old puppy for his 2nd vaccination today (purely because the breeder had used this practice for his 1st vaccine and we didn’t want to have to do a whole other course at another vets - we should of just bit the bullet and gone to our others dog vets). The male Vet were saw was quite abrasive in my opinion, no greetings or friendly manner with a puppy that hasn’t experienced much, just straight on the table and grabbing his back end to feel his testicles. We didn’t even know his name as he didn’t introduce himself to us. Our puppy unfortunately had an ear infection, I mentioned this might be the case as he had been scratching at it for a couple of days, the vet never said hold onto him this might be a little uncomfortable, he just stuck his fingers into the ours dogs ear which made him yelp. Obviously it’s painful, we understand this, but some communication of what was going to be done would have been well received. If things need to be done during an examination that’s fine - but some clarification would be helpful. We’ve left the vets feeling deflated in truth, it’s a shame that this was our little puppies experience of a vets. Good table side manners and a kind, gentle approach with a little puppy I would assume would be standard?? I’m not expecting the earth with wanting this, and clearly with all the other 1* reviews I’m not alone in my thinking. For over a £100 I would have hoped for a much nicer experience! Maybe it was just bad luck this was our experience, however this would never be somewhere we’d recommend to family or friends after the experience we’ve had this evening.

Would love to give 5 stars as the vet and nurse were fantastic during every visit. My issue is they had told me they had put through 3 separate claims to my insurance (I had to pay upfront for the treatment, and subsequent visits, to the value of around £1500) The claims have been put through incorrectly and multiple calls from myself and my insurance company have been fobbed off. The lady (only one person able to do this, I am told) that processed my claim (incorrectly) has been off every time I call, supposed to be back today but lo and behold she isn’t. Really not impressed as this time of year isn’t the best time to be out of pocket for such a sum, especially when the insurance would have returned it a long time ago had the person in question processed the claim as it should have been processed. This has been ongoing since December 6th, with the first claim apparently put in on the 8th. Really not happy as like I mentioned, the clinicians are fantastic but the admin side really lets the practice down.

Knowledge of the breed of dog. The vet in charge of the practice is highly professional and a very nice man. He took an interest in the dog and he's wellbeing. We will be going there in future for all pets.
