I attended a work Christmas party. Very disappointing 3 course meal from the overcooked, soggy beef to the mushy, warm dessert! Our table was so close to the dance floor that the music that played at virtually full volume throughout the meal meant you could barely hear each other talk. Guests packed in like sardines with hardly any room to manoeuvre around the table. Should be so much better. On the plus side, the staff were efficient.

I attended a Christmas party at the hotel yesterday & the catering staff were incredible. I eat gluten- & dairy-free & they went above & beyond, providing a fresh GF bread roll, cooking part of my main course from scratch, & even creating a custom strawberry cheesecake (off-menu) for dessert. I've never been so well looked after! Highly recommend this venue for their attentive, knowledgeable staff & accommodation of dietary needs.

Stayed for a wedding (evening). The grounds, bar and venue room are very nice. I could see new rest rooms had been renovated, however areas of the hotel could do with decorating, our room 38 was huge but again a little tired. All in all we had a lovely time celebrating, staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff were wonderful, check in was polite and easy but particular credit to the young blonde lady who was the only waitress working on a busy Saturday night - she was rushed off her feet but was doing a great job. Rooms are comfortable but quite tired. Blind was broken, bathroom had some minor mold and grime and a lot of discolouration. Food was decent but very pricey for the area.

Can I suggest some lighting on the outdoor signage on the road and in the car park. We drove up and down the road a few times in the dark and the hotel signs were not visible. Plus when we found the car park, again the signs were not lit so spend another while walking around and around to try to find the entrance which was at the rear. We were about to give up as the place looked all closed up! On a positive note the bed was lovely so we had a great nights sleep.

It's really a pleasure to be able to give a ten out of ten as it were. The fact my wife and I were only booked for b&b having been to Cosford RAF Museum for an evening photo opportunity. As far as I can recall I've never before rated a place as high as this and it all started at reception. If every establishment had a Tom at their first point of contact life would be so much happier. This lad makes a difference, smiley, happy, answers questions and does it all naturally, its something that cannot be taught, I guess its down to his personality and the way he was brought up. So, owners, make sure you keep this lad.

A ok place to stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. They could do with a long handled duster as there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Could do with an upgrade on decor and fixtures. Dinner wasn't anything special. Breakfast was good.

10 hairs were in my bath and on the bathroom floor, all of which were black and clearly visible. I have blonde hair. I frankly did not feel clean after my shower. Lack of cleanliness for a £90 a night room in a 4star hotel is not acceptable. Further, the room differences for the same price are unbelievable. The first nights room had much more floor space and a king size bed whereas the second nights room had virtually no floor space, felt very crammed and only had a double bed. I fail to see how both rooms can be charged at the same rate when there are clear inconsistencies with them. I have emailed the hotel around 3 times now and made 3 phone calls, everytime being told someone would be in contact soon, yet no one has. This does not have a 4-star hotel cleanliness level at all and the level of differences in the rooms for the same price is actually ridiculous. WOULD NOT STAY THERE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. DISGUSTING.

I have mixed feelings about my stay here. On the plus side the room was very comfortable, it was a lovely and quiet setting, there was a great sized car park, and the staff were friendly. On a negative note, not enough staff were working so we had to wait 25 minutes for a desert! They service the rooms every other day, so with my 2 night stay my room wasn't cleaned, so my small bin was overflowing.

Positives were! 1.Good location near centre of shifnal. 2.Comfortable bed. Good tea and coffee in rm. 3. Bar and restaurant looked nice and also had outdoor beer garden. Dislikes! 1. On booking by my mother, she had requested my room be away from the main street. I received rm4 which could not have been closer to the main St. 2. I was there 2 nights and the bed was not made up or rubbish bins emptied for my second night. 3. Shower was in the bath which you had to go up one step to get into. This I considered dangerous for persons of elderly years. 4. A light tube was not working in the room entrance. I reported this and it Was fixed but the packaging of the light tube was left on my bedside table. 5. Even though there is a lift to upper floor. You still need to negotiate a few steps to get to certain rooms. 6. The room is very dated? Net curtains that have holes in them and insects trapped in them (which I cleared) 7. On check in, it was not explained that my room was the other end of the building and I could have parked my car there for easy access. 8. Old sash windows that were streaming with condensation in the morning.
