Throwback to the darkest time of my life, the most depressing place I’ve ever stayed. I lost my mind here. I punched a window, tried to end it all, and these scars are a reminder of those two weeks stay in here , sleep on the streets better than in this graveyard

Be very wary of trying to book here. Their phone number goes straight to a dismissal message ("I'm sorry, no one is able to attend you"), and the website url now automatically forwards to a free Wix domain, the booking system on said website doesn't work, and the copyright info at the footer is dated 2020 and hasn't been updated in 3 years... I don't think this business is still running by the looks of their online/phone presence.

I would have given this hotel a zero star rating if there was an option but sadly there isn’t. I was due to stay at this hotel on the 9th December but they contacted on Sunday the 4th to cancel my reservation which I had made on the 11th November, when asked why it was being cancelled at such short notice, I was told they didn’t know and they they had only been given a list of people to cancel, I can only presume that a higher priced reservation had been realised and my £65 was too cheap for them. The lack of explanation and the Short notice is what is most frustrating here, so think twice before you book as your reservation isn’t guaranteed.

It needs a massive overhaul to bring this hotel up to scratch. The room needed a good deep clean everywhere, dirty carpets, bathroom taps, dusty furniture and a wasp nest above the entrance door. All the linen and bedding was very clean.

Good points: large room, clean sheets, very close to station. BAD POINTS: booked bed and breakfast, advertised that breakfast will be served in the room. No breakfast! No food of any description. Carpet in room was badly stained. No thermostat on shower, sink cracked, grubby marks on back of door.

The room was so unclean and smelly we requested a refund and left the hotel. Spiders were hanging everywhere in the room, the bed was collapsed in the middle and the bathroom was dirty. The whole room was dusty and looked like it hadn’t been hoovered in years. No facilities are available in the hotel and The outside looks derelict. The photos on the website are nothing like the actual hotel. I can not believe how bad the whole place is.

In it's day it was probably lovely. Now it's dated and needs some repair. No food and bar closed. Served it's purpose for 1 night stay. Room only £39. Staff were friendly and helpful but hotel seemed deserted, especially on a dark, wet misty night. Shame. Don't think covid has helped this hotel and sadly probably lots of others. Radiator valve was broke so couldn't turn heating off. Room was dated but spacious. Bath and shower were good with plenty of hot water. Again bathroom was dated. Sad reflection of current affairs. View from window in morning could have been better. Bedding was clean and room seemed to have been recently decorated.

Nice Location and can`t grumble too much for the money, a bit dated and in need of refurb but nice comfy bed and a decent stay for 2 nights. Get a room on ground floor, upper levels are hot and airless, however was exceptionally hot when we were there.Friendly helpful staff. EDIT:- Stayed here again, all good except the girl on reception at night needs a crash course in front of house / customer service.

Extremely poor.First impression when arrived was its dirty and unkempt.Garden borders a mess everything overgrown. Inside was not very clean with dirty stained carpets. Room - very poor. TV kept on freezing unless you watched BBC1 which just flickered occasionally. Toilet loose when you sat on it mainly because toilet roll holder situated behind you. Waste bin in bathroom lid flew off when you pressed the pedal. Shower was appalling. Hot water tap jammed and cold water tap very stiff. Water poured out of back of shower head. Bar and restaurant facilities not open. Health ,/ Fitness not open either and has not been for 2years. Hotel manager was a noxious and had an aweful smirk on her face when I was complaining and requesting a refund. I was told no refunds because we actually stayed there!!! Spoke to the person who checked us on and made the first complaint. He came up to our room and checked out our complaints. He said he would inform the manager when she came on duty at 10.00pm. She denied this, so one of them is lying!!! Will now make a double complaint to Booking.com and to head office of the hotel chain. Absolutely disgusted by this and especially the attitude of the manager. Mr. Giles
