Now this is personal to me, I'm sure most others will have a pleasant stay, just aslong as an Australian staff member named Tasha isn't working there that night. A bunch of food was layed out and I was told by staff "this is all free food" the food was then packed away into the fridge. I looked in the fridge later on and had a packet of falafels. On the fridge it says "label your food with Ur name and room number" like every other hostel. There was no label on these falafels, so I assumed it was the free food mentioned earlier. Later on a staff member informed me the falafels were hers, I apologised and offered to buy her a replacement packet, she kindly said "no that's ok" and I thought that was the end of it. Tasha then comes in and right from the jump is very aggressive and threatening, saying if I do that again I'll be kicked out. I apologised and tried to explain but she continually talked over me and kept making out like it was my fault and that I should've "just known" not to eat random food in spite of the sign on the fridge. I explained that I'm autistic and follow rules very literally and what's "common sense" to most won't always be common sense to me. She continued to talk over me when I was trying to explain this until I said "will you please stop interrupting me" to which she replied "right that's it you're out" I was then told to leave and wasn't refunded for the bed that was already payed for. Everyone was lovely, I wanted to leave a good review but I simply can't because of how I was treated by Tasha. I hope her boss sees this and speaks to her and that she gets help with the anger issues she clearly has.

Best hostel in Belfast, great location, reasonable price and lovely friendly staff. Good spot to party and meet new people. Everything was clean and had a nice homely feel. Looking forward to coming back!

Best hostel I've been. You feel so welcome and comfortable there. The location, the service, the rooms - like everything was perfect. I'll come back for sure

Great hostel to spend a few nights whilst visiting Belfast. The location is ideal with the uni/botanics around the corner and the city centre a walk away. The hostel felt homely and all the staff were super welcoming and friendly. Comfortable and clean rooms. Plenty of spaces to relax as well. Highly recommend staying here! Big shout out to Thomas for providing recommendations and tunes on the bagpipes!

I had a wonderful stay at Global Village. The staff were lovely and welcoming. They helped me out and Thomas provided me with a highlighted map of key places to see around Belfast and great insight into the places which was fantastic! The shower pressure and heat was top tier and the sheets provided were soft. Another bonus was the free breakfast, coffee, tea and pasta and rice! I highly recommend this hostel when visiting Belfast!

As most reviews were good, we thought it reflects the true state of the facility, however do not be deceived. Room is very small, you can't even sit on the bed without hitting your head. Cheap price for a cheap service.

You get what you pay for. As the price is cheap, so are the facilities. Can't even sit on the bed without hitting your head and I am only less than 5'. Not recommended for someone who is keen on cleanliness.

Amazing value for money (I paid last minute and it was around £21) and staff were super friendly. Was a nice stay. One thing I would change though is how squeaky the bedroom door was. I felt super bad for the sleepers with it squeaking loudly as I entered in the night. Thank you for the nice stay:)

Normally I do well planned out places before I decide to sleep at them but this place is perfectly fine despite a lot of other reviews. It doesn't take much to set people off these days. If you aren't picky and want a low cost, family/friend like environment for a hostel then this is it. Go be chatty in the common are, chill on your bunk alone or explore Belfast from near the center. This place will have you coming back. I know when I think Belfast I think Global Village.
