Stayed here for a few days for work. The rooms are a little dated and could do with some TLC, but they're comfortable and have everything you need to relax. The bar is great to visit with friendly staff and locals, nice fresh beer and the food was absolutely beautiful. I'd be more than happy to stay here again.

Went with grandchildren for a treat we ordered children meals mashed potato was not very tasty tasted more like powdered. The sausage was overall okay, but the pub needs a clean and decoration needed badly , the pub is more for drinker's than a family pub. The staff are pleasant and friendly.

Came in for lunch having done a long walk on Dartmoor with two children. Food was outstanding, clean plates all round. Lady behind the bar was very friendly. Spent the rest of the day wishing we had a local pub like this one. Will be coming back after our next walk.

I had a wonderful stay at the Packhorse Inn in South Brent when walking the Dartmoor Way. My room was stunning, featuring a very comfortable bed and offering lovely views over the walled-in garden. The ambiance of the pub itself was cozy, complete with a welcoming fireplace. One thing to note is that the inn does not serve dinner or breakfast on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan your visit accordingly. There is a grill and a coop supermarket nearby. Additionally, there is no WiFi available.

This has become our favourite place for Sunday lunch. The team make sure our every need is catered for and the food is beautifully cooked and presented. We really love the "Trio of Roasts" - beef, pork and chicken with a huge yorkie and stuffing, perfect roast spuds and fresh veg. We love the cosy atmosphere and log burner. Well worth a visit - we'll keep coming back.

Saturday the 18th February 2023 Plymouths Biggest Rugby Derby Devonport Services RFC v Ivybridge RFC but more important we pre-ordered our pre trip meal at the Pack Horse Inn, South Brent it was a fantastic Beef and Ale pie for 6 of us going to the match. followed by an equally fantastic cheese board it really set the day off and what a fantastic day 41-29 to Services. Well done Abbie and Nick the food was brilliant and we wish you luck with a great following when you start your new menu on the 1st Mark 2023.

Good pub, good owners, good time We visited the pack horse and from the outside didn’t expect anything that unusual from this type of establishment. We were plenty surprised and the 4 of us (2 kids and 2 adults) would definitely stop here again. The food, was very nicely prepared and portions were big. The cooked breakfast was a lovely English breakfast that we well portioned and came with all the trimmings. The food kept me going well past lunchtime due to how much there was but I was unable to stop eating it. There was fresh coffee, teas, cereal and juices available all nicely presented ready for when we woke up. We had a steak with trimmings and a sausage and mash for an evening meal. Again the portions were big, the steak was cooked perfectly to the required cook requested (med rare), the 2 Cumberland sausages there meaty without a tough skin and the mash was very smooth. All round the food was very very good. The room, was very nice and very comfortable and fresh renovated. The bed had one of the most important things, a good mattress, good pillows and a nice thick duvet. The only improvement was the bathroom, HOWEVER this was next on the list to renovate, can’t wait to see what this looks like next time. Had TV, kettle etc and a USB bank in the room, great for charging multiple electrical devices with out the need of lots of extension leads. There were also 2 extension leads included in the room. The service was attentive and accommodating. If we need something it was found and if we needed something that was not part of the norm then it was done. This even went down to extra camp bed in the room, asking for something off the menu. The attention given to everything was outstanding, even after the first drink my order was memorised and the small preference, i.e. a handle glass or straight glass for my gin was remembered. In summary, the room was good, the service was great, and the food was spot on. I will stop here again.
