My recent visit to Go Outdoors at Cattewater Rd, Laira Bridge Rd, Cattedown, Plymouth PL4 0SE, resulted in an extremely frustrating and costly experience due to their parking policy. After spending approximately £350 on purchases, which naturally extended my time in the store, I inadvertently exceeded the allotted parking duration by a mere 12 minutes. Upon realizing this, I actively sought an option to pay for the additional time, but found no available mechanism to do so. When I inquired with a staff member, I was informed that exceeding the duration would inevitably lead to a fine, despite my significant expenditure and the time it took to complete my shopping. This lack of flexibility and customer consideration is appalling. Just two days later, I received a £100 parking fine, which is an unacceptable consequence for a loyal customer. This incident represents the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. I strongly advise against visiting this store if you value peace of mind and wish to avoid such punitive charges.

Pathetic Manager. I have a fault with my bike which is covered under warranty however the member of staff I spoke to on the phone said “we can fix it but we shouldn’t as our manager sees it as a waste of time.” I’m sorry but that’s pathetic. This manager is a disgrace. I brought a Calibre e Stich bike 2 weeks ago. It does about 15 miles maximum but go outdoors don’t want to take it back and give me a refund despite being told it would do 40 miles. (I’m riding it in a low setting.) Take your pile off junk back and give me my money back.

It’s okay. It don’t expect to buy any thing high end as all it seems to do is low end and middle of the road stuff. I do buy things from here but if it something high end I generally look elsewhere. I get that they don’t make much on high end stuff but this does attract people who want high end equipment. They then. It the other bits they need too from there.

Received brilliant customer service from Jay A when looking for a pair of hiking boots yesterday morning. I also wanted advice on care of the boots and to get some suitable socks. Jay was very knowledgeable and helpful and took time to answer all my questions. It's great when someone is so knowledgeable about the products they're selling. I'm really delighted with my purchases, thank you.

The young boy on shoe section could not of been less helpful last Saturday. Went to Launcston instead and service by Wendy was amazing and bought 4 pairs of boots

I asked for advice on buying boots for a trip to Norway next month. Staff were very helpful and took time to show me options. We also talked about my new camera and taking good photos of the Northern lights. Really good experience.

Wow! A super store selling everything you could possibly need to do most things outdoors. Camping, hiking, fishing etc. I went looking for a new coat. Found a lovely one in the sale and was then offered to join their club for £5 a year, this gave me an additional £30 saving on the price of the coat. There are all the big brands at competitive prices. I really wish I had discovered this place before.

I went into Go Outdoors to buy some black Wellies. They had them in stock. I checked before I went in. They didn't have my size after all and I was told to order online, which they couldn't do for me instore because their system was down. I ordered them online. I received a text a day later was told to collect them, but the end of the next day! I went in again expecting Go Outdoor to have had a delivery, but again they didn't have them and as it turned out never had them. What a waste of time and petrol. Stop messing people around. I wanted to buy local, but ordered on Amazon instead. I did try.

Having visited a fair few Go Outdoors throughout the UK, this is definitely one of the better ones. Staff are fairly knowledgeable, and the products are well presented (rather than just dumped on the shelves). Only negative is the queues at the tills can be quite long, and it can be a bit of a pain if I'm just popping in for a couple of items.
