Asked if they could take a look at a free hub. Said no sorry we don’t those sort of jobs. I said what do you mean are you not a repair shop? Was yes we are but we don’t do jobs like that. You can book in for 100 pound service or 180 pound service. I don’t need any of those things. I just need a mechanic to look at a problem area on my bicycle. Absolute farce of a company, Mike Ashley company of course. The man was referred me to the website to book in for a full bicycle service. What a backwards way to run a bike shop. CRAP. Would give zero stars if I could

Service here is very slow, often going in acknowledged by staff for quite some time. One member of staff in particular comes across as patronising, and isn’t at all knowledgeable. They sell good quality bikes and gear, but customer service is severely lacking.

Reviews for Google - Evans for Rit our repairman. Excellent and very professional welcome by Rit. Our tandem needed a repair for the disc brake (rear wheel). Very quickly, Rit realised our need. He gave us r-v 30 minutes later. Again, professional gesture to find out if we were OK with his choices for the (veiled) disc, namely to change it for another range. Perfect adjustment then, with force comments to make sure we understand the problem and how to solve it. Thank you very much, Rit, for this professional work.

Very disappointed having read good reviews on Google. Had we seen the appalling reviews on trust pilot we might have avoided. Firstly the bike we ordered from Evans’ website never arrived - no explanation, just “returned to sender” before it reached us. We tried ordering a second bike from Evans, this time through Sports Direct. Again, returned to sender with no explanation. Deciding it must be a courier issue, we ordered a 3rd bike on the Evans website and opted to collect in store. This involved an 80 mile round trip but by this point we had promised the bike and needed to deliver! Despite Evans tracking saying “awaiting courier pick up” the courier announced it had arrived in store so we called ahead and were told we could collect it. They offered to “build” it, which seemed to involve attaching the wrong pedals and straightening the handle bars. This cost £25 and, as evidenced by the photo’s, resulted in cheap plastic pedals (not the metal pinnacle hybrid pedals advertised) and lots of scratches. I am embarrassed to gift this, however I am also very reluctant to return it as I might never get another one!

Thank you to John, Rit & Zach who made the experience of ‘big kid bike’ purchasing so lovely! They took the time to correctly measure our little one ensuring the bike we chose for her birthday was the right size for her. The bike itself is super lightweight compared to ‘toy shop’ brands and was a great price too! Thank you all for such a positive experience, you’re the best!

Really dry impressed with the Plymouth branch of Evans service engineer when we took our two bikes in for a service. Excellent service from Got they looked like new, had been thoroughly cleaned and all the rust marks gone. New chains and brake pads, we didn't know why they were making creaking noises but turns out the previous shop fitted the chains the wrong way. Very helpful friendly and knowledgeable service. Would definitely recommend

Had electric bike delivered left outside in the rain on the front lawn box was completely damaged. No notification that they were coming even though I rang the store yesterday and they said it wouldn’t be here till Tuesday next week. Also damaged the flagpole do not use a store if you want things delivered properly store in Plymouth, we are not very helpful. And not interested in the state that the bike was delivered.

Thank you Rit for fixing my bicycle. I initially thought it would take time to fix but you were so fast and efficient. My Bicycle feels lighter and I feel more comfortable riding now than before. Best Wishes to you and Evans

The service at Evans Cycles in Plymouth was fantastic and I have no hesitation in writing this review. Rit was so helpful and kept me informed at every step of the way. When I needed a specialist part he helped in sourcing a supplier and when the work had been completed, he took the time to explain what had been done and why, along with some tips for future riding. He most definitely went out of his way to help the customer and is a huge ambassador for Evans Cycles. Although getting into Evans Cycles is more inconvenient for me than using other cycle shops/repairers, I will not consider going anywhere else now because of the service that Rit provided. Highly recommended.
