Gav is the local dealer for Volt Bikes. With his help we bought his and hers Volt Metro folding electric bikes - they are great bikes and built in the UK too. He got the bikes ready for our collection and helped with tips on their operation and care. I recommend Gav as a professional, local bike shop.
Had a fair bit of bike jiggery-pokery done by Gav recently and have been very pleased with the work done. Some bike shop staff (in other establishments) can come across as a bit condescending and aloof at times, but not here at Velosmith. Gav is a friendly and knowledgeable addition to the business and both he and Dave come highly recommend by me.
This is a fantastic bicycle repair shop. We came in with broken disc brakes and left just an hour later with the bikes back in excellent working condition. The owner demonstrated great workmanship and was very transparent about what needed fixing or replacing. Overall, a truly excellent experience!
Really disappointed. Ordered new wheels on the 3 November last year and paid a deposit. Apparently they were late due to a lost shipment so I gave the shop the benefit of the doubt. But now I recon they are just never going to deliver. what’s worst is when you write emails chasing them they rarely reply.
Went here a while ago requiring a fairly easy job on my bike. I had to take it back and in the end went to Bikespace who were great.
Needed an emergency repair and looked up closest bike shop. Fantastic service with extra recommendations on route while I waited. Thanks!
I had trouble getting my free hub off the wheel that Velo Smith had supplied last year as it was broken. I was always going to buy the free hub from them but comments which included so the internet has let you down and now you want me at quarter past ten to stand here and give you advice. Also I’ve no idea what freehub that is and not even sure if we can supply one. Go to you local bike shop for advice!! I won’t be going back to this one, I drove to Plymstock and got excellent advice and even took the freehub off for me.
Incredible bike build and service. completely sorted me out to get me on the road (gravel) asap! Cannot recommend David and Velo Smith highly enough.
