Was in the stretching area recently when a heated confrontation broke out between two members. One of them was being relentlessly threatened and verbally abused, in full view of staff. A female staff member stood nearby and did absolutely nothing — in fact, she turned to the victim and said “you’re not helping” as he was being verbally assaulted and intimidated. No one was physically harmed, but it was genuinely disturbing — zero intervention. After reading the other reviews here, I can confidently say the concerns about the staff are valid. There seems to be a consistent pattern of inaction, lack of professionalism, and failure to manage situations properly. This isn’t just about poor customer service — it’s a serious safety concern. Imagine being harassed in front of staff and they turn it on you. You’re on your own at this place. Believe the reviews. Luckily, a few members in the gym stepped in to help de-escalate the situation, as the aggressor came across as genuinely unstable. Without their intervention, things could have escalated further.

Today I had a new experience trying a free day pass for the new West Bridgford Everlast gym, and I am disgusted. Firstly, the ladies on reception were unwelcoming and rude. I stood in the queue, and there were people complaining about the service which I am not shocked about now. I came and one lady who was a personal trainer and had black hair with a impressive physique. She was coaching an old lady, which I think is a hard challenge in itself but she significantly impressed me and im sure others too. After some time, I wanted to go and ask her if she could possibly be my personal trainer, but this lady exceeded her role as a personal trainer and showed me what a dedicated worker is. She was hoovering everywhere at the top of the gym, bottom and every crevice and every crevice you can think of and further then she mopped everything. She continued to order and sort very heavy weights BY HERSELF. By the end, she was cleaning the whole treadmill area on her knees, really? Whilst the receptionists where smirking and laughing at her living their best life and using that poor girl to do all the work even tho there are cleaners there!!!! How is this acceptable? I do understand that maybe a tiny bit of tidiness is important, but that was absolutely too much to put on one person and not help them. It really upset me, as in the Netherfield area where another gym is located, everyone helps eachother and cleans whereas West Bridgford has cleaning staff, but the personal trainers or anyone else there don't. Neither does anyone else there show sympathy or kindness to one another. Is this the gym community people want to experience? I saw a huge lack of respect of people towards her, as she is qualified to do her job, not to be used for the purpose of the gym. I went to the reception ladies, and they were not nice at all, and they said that they have to do it as well. No, they don't; they didn't even help this poor girl. They had fun chatting with smirky smiles on their faces and doing nothing at all. When I tried to talk to them and pass positive feedback for this girl and complain about the receptionist ladies, they completely ignored my feelings and did not care whatsoever. In the end, I asked if I had a 3-day pass, could I come back tomorrow and Tuesday to explore the place. They told me no, as I only have a one-day pass, really? Nothing else? I've never seen anything like it, I have experienced so many gyms and their environments and the sense of community as I've been training for a very long time as a professional bodybuilder for years, I will definitely be giving bad feedback for this place. Because you can see how the staff has been treated there. Absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Awful awful gym. Rude staff, and a gym refurbed without any thought at all. Looks good on the surface but not the quality west bridgford was looking for. Will be closing down soon once the hype has gone. - Cold showers on multiple different occasions, including today. - Stuck up staff behind reception who prioritise looking good over customer service. - 3 hair dryers in the whole changing room with 20 people. Women's one has 3 hair dryers only. - Disgusting wet and muddy floor in the changing room every time. Disgusting. - Only 2 private cubicles in the whole changing room, not very private. - Smell of mould in showers already. - No where to have a shave. - Spa way too hot again, 3rd time in a row. - Stopped under 16's from going to the gym unsupervised apparently due to health and safety. But then a limit in place that kids have to leave the gym by 6:30pm. Clearly a massive issue for lots of parents who will finish work at 5:30 and then have literally 1 hour before being kicked out. No sense. Plus, the under 16's kids from the local schools have been coming to the gym for years, have been harshly done by, will be hanging out on the street now rather than doing something positive in life at the gym. Brilliant move for the local community. I could go on and on. Feedback was given to reception by lots of people, but manager is never there and never bothers to call back. Clearly not bothered about the feedback. Just avoid avoid avoid. I'll be cancelling after years here. Literally every member complains but nothing gets done, other than an email to write into. Bring back Roko, get these clowns out of our gym.

I’m really disappointed with this gym. The facilities are not well maintained – the equipment is often dirty and looks neglected. The overall cleanliness is poor, and it’s clear that regular cleaning is not a priority. The steam sauna is frequently cold and the entire sauna area is in need of serious renovation. Considering the high membership fees, I expected a much better standard. Definitely not worth the price.

Recently joined Roko. Fab gym with great equipment to suit all needs. Absolutely love the classes, the Trainers are a credit! Massive shoutout to Alex who always pushes me to do that extra mile! Spa area is lovely!

Started gym at the start of January. Clean and tidy gym. Only thing i'd have to say so far and not entirely the gyms fault but they could look out for it a bit more and either ask people to put them back or put them back themselves, is that people don't put their weights away. For me who's small and not that strong, this is a problem and hinders my workout and my confidence. Apart from that so far it's good!

Such a good gym and health spa but very inconsistent with the cafe opening times. Not good at all. Turned up at 4.50pm and it’s closed. What is going off? Used to have a board that stated the times that it is open and even that has disappeared.

Don’t waste your time or money! I initially came in for a weeks guest pass, in that time I accessed the pool and some gym classes. I really enjoyed the classes and decided to join after being told the communication from reception/ sales team would improve shortly as they’ve had staff turn around. Once joined, the communication didn’t get any better. The app wasn’t working and I couldn’t get onto classes that my friends could, I tried over 15 times across the day to call through to reception and I couldn’t get through at all. I was then emailed stating I have guest passes to use, I informed them of a friend who wanted to use, they contacted them and set it up. My friend got her dates mixed up and tried contacting them to make it the following week but nobody answered the line. Myself and my friend tried calling several times across a week, emailed 2 people in sales and still no response. The same person later emailed again telling me I had guest passes to which I informed him that he hadn’t even responded to my last email. I signed up for a 3 month membership and put a cancellation in straight away as I was waiting for another gym to open closer to home. That gym has been delayed so was looking to extend out of convenience, membership contacted me before I had chance to talk to them. They said they had some deals I may be interested in and surprise surprise I got no response. Almost like it was a tick box exercise for them. The communication is SOOO poor, considering I pay £65pm, I’ve had better service from Pure Gym at a quarter of the price. I’ve made my thoughts aware, I filled in a survey from the general manager 2 months ago and didn’t hear anything back. I enjoy the classes but the spin bikes are falling apart. Every time I go another one breaks. They’ve broken on me mid class. The building is run down and tired looking. I’m not even sure the studios have aircon- if they do it wasn’t used in summer. The only good thing about this gym is the class instructors. The ones I have met have been great! Nobody else is friendly, reception are always talking to other staff members, its rare if you get a hello. It’s not the experience you’d expect from a health club, you’re better off at your local leisure centre.
