The most delightful family run B&B you could wish for. Easter/spring is a very special time as there are so many young livestock in all the fields. Esme is rare gem of a host, the warmest welcome and most accommodating throughout our stay, nothing too much trouble, very relaxed yet efficient, amazing breakfast with the freshest produce! Our children age 9 and 5 yrs old will never forget the freedom they had, all the animals and playing in the streams/local waterfalls and bluebell woods. Meavy the local village is less than a five minute walk with a great pub (Royal Oak) and stunning walks. We also made the walk up to the top of Sheepstor with the children, the views were spectacular. Esme and her family made our short break very special, wholeheartedly recommend this special place in the heart of Dartmoor.

My family and I recently stayed at this beautiful old farmhouse. The accommodation was delightful, Esme the host provided the most excellent service and attention. Breakfast was the best I have experienced in a long time and just the start needed for a day on the moors. I highly recommend this stay over to anyone.

This was the best bed and breakfast we had during our two weeks trip in South England. The owners are so unbelievable friendly and Else has a great sense of humor too. The breakfast was delicious and Dartmoor park is easy to reach from this location.

A delightful traditional farmhouse in the beautiful Dartmoor national park. Esme was a lovely host, I was welcomed with a pot of tea and homemade cake. There is a a fabulous local village pub just a really nice 10min walk across the field and down a track. The room was comfortable and it was lovely to fall asleep listening to the owls in the darkness. Breakfast was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. I’d definitely come back here again it’s perfect for exploring Dartmoor.

Visited here now for a number of years and is definitely our home away from home. Esme and Brian have always been incredibly welcoming into their home, breakfast is the best in both food and experience and yummy lunches available if requested. They go over and above every single time. Views and location to die for and farm is handy for anything you want to do while on Dartmoor, and importantly short walk to excellent local pub.

First stayed at Callisham farm several years ago, and have been again every year since. It is a working farm (sheep/arable), set amongst rolling small hills with a distance view to the rear of the farm, in the village of Meavy, on the edge of Dartmoor national park, Brian is the farmer. Esme his wife takes care of the B & B, she makes really lovely breakfasts, tea is served in a real teapot and you pour it into real teacups. Very homely surroundings, inglenook fireplace with a large log burning stove ensuring you would not be cold. Some of the guests stay there as it ideally situated for walking. A short walk from the farm into the village of Meavy is the Royal Oak Inn, built in the 14th century, a really extensive and varied menu, real ales, warm & friendly atmosphere, what a great combination, Callisham farm B & B, and the Royal Oak, has to be amongst England's finest. Five ***** Yeah!

Truly great B&B highly recommend for a quiet get away. Esme and Brian made our short stay with 2 children and our huge dog really special, even providing a birthday cake for my wife. Parts of the farm house date back to the 15th century, the guest lounge /breakfast area is stunning complete with inglenook fireplace and wood burner. Our bedroom was very comfortable with on suite and antique brass bedstead. It only 10 minutes walk to the Royal Oak pub an age old Inn with great food local ale's set on Maveys picturesque village green. Stay here and you won't be disappointed.

I was in the area with a friend for the serious business of playing golf at Yelverton GC! We could not have been more warmly welcomed and looked after. Five star service at two star prices. A wonderful location and comfortable room. Thank you, Esme, and well done! We will be back.
