Lovely family run shop with a good range of sushi. There’s a small seating area inside as well as some seating outside on warmer days. You can have sushi made to order if you grab the menu from inside the fridge. Pleasantly surprised to see toppings not typically offered ! Excellent value for money and friendly staff. Would happily recommend for a quick snack and will try the other items in the future.

Went here on a whim and we were impressed. The downstairs bar is lively and well laid out, but most impressed by the restaurant upstairs. Watch out Lion and Lobster, Walrus has a lovely service team, good food and the emphasis on home style food and good portions is right. We loved the skate and chicken cordon blue. Will return.

I've been to the Amsterdam a couple of times since the refurbishment and I really wanted to leave a good review as the first time was lovely. However when I went in around lunchtime on Saturday we ordered our drinks and found a table without a problem. What the barmaid didn't mention was that there was a massive wait for food, although we were clearly there to eat. First we were told to wait 20 mins before we could order, fine. When we tried again we were told it was over an hour wait. At this point our party and several others left and went over the road to the red lion and had a lovely lunch which was considerably cheaper than the Amsterdam.

This place is incredible. First Miso Soup I’ve really enjoyed, you have to try it! Also had sushi which was super fresh, the tuna crunch is amazing and also the salmon avocado. Loved it so much I tried the seaweed salmon one too- best sushi I’ve ever had.

I've ordered sushi three times for delivery (just a simple salmon and avocado), and the rolls have been consistently good. I appreciate that the sushi rolls are neat and that each piece have adequate amounts of fish and fillings. I've ordered from other sushi restaurants via app, and just because these restaurants are 'made to order' I've found myself disappointed because the rolls either have fallen apart, some pieces of sushi have less fish than others, rice wasn't good. The sushi is prepackaged in the store, but I've been impressed with Akimoto so far, the sushi rolls are reliable, fresh and hopefully that continues. I wish they had eel rolls though!

Today I ordered for the first time from this restaurant, via a Delivery Service. I read here in the Reviews that Sushi is freshly made. But what I received appeared to have been pre-made rolls, which were then decorated to be shipped for delivery. They were quite cold; not what was I was expecting from freshly made rolls. The restaurant is close to where I live, so the drive time was only 15 mins; not long enough to cool rolls right down. I must say they tasted nice; just not ‘made to order’. Was expecting more. Next time, I will eat in-store, and I’m sure my experience will be better.

Highly recommend. They went out of their way to make me a fruit tea with black instead of green tea even though its not something they do, when I asked if all the fruit tea was with green tea. Super friendly will definitely be back. It was perfect even though it's not something they normally make! Excited to buy some sushi next time as well :-)
