   Fish was nice but the chips were tasteless. I particularly asked for my chips to be extra extra crispy, but sadly they were not crispy at all. Ended up throwing them away

   The food is okay, certainly only average. I've been in there a few times & each time it's taken about 10 minutes to get 1 battered sausage & chips. The old man doesn't waste any words. Just looks at you & says " salt, vinegar" then just says what you assume is the price. If you put the money on the counter top he just shoves a plastic tray at you saying "money here". He is rude and abrupt.

   First time we’ve had fish and chips from here. The fish was the freshest and flakiest I’ve had in a long time and the batter was crisp and delicious. The chips were tasty but maybe a tad greasy. The portions were very generous. Will definitely come here again.

   We've recently moved to the area and thought we'd try here for my partners favourite treat; fish and chips dinner. The price was very good however the quality of the food, appauling. The batter on fish and sausages was overcooked, the chips were clearly warmed up from lunch time and some potatoes not even cut into chip shapes and instead just half a potato. My partner prides himself on his love of a chippie and has said hes never had one that's disappointed him as much as this. We won't be returning.

   Excellent Fish & Chip served. Prices very reasonable. Love my favourite fish -Husk. One very large bone and full of fish meat- Delicious!! There are other varieties on the board that you can buy. Owners of Penhill Fish Bar is very courteous. You can request that the batter is not too crusty when deep fried if you prefer. Very easy to park unlike Taylor Fish Shop in the high street where vehicles are always parked even though they are not the customers.
