Under new management. Has been refurbished with a modern contemporary feel. Service was quick. Food was good. Efficient and friendly staff. Reasonable prices. What's not to like?

I came here this evening with my little family and we really enjoyed every moment. Food was outstanding. We had a King Prawn Green Curry which isn’t that hot but has a kick, lovely aromatic and chilli flavour. Tandoori Mixed Grill which consisted of: Sheek Kebab, Lamb Tikka, Chicken Tikka and Tandoori Chicken. A lovely selection to share. Tandoori King Prawn Massala. One of my favourites. I asked for a couple of cut green chillies in the curry. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 2 Egg Fried Rices, Somosa’s and a garlic Nan. All was so yummy. The waiter was very nice and polite. He made the effort to talk to us all which was so sweet of him. There was another five tables but he still approachable and attentive towards us. We traveled 25 miles to come here this evening. Absolutely worth it. Will be back 100% and thank you so much guys!

I came in for an early evening dinner while on a work trip and had an excellent experience. The host was attentive and polite, the restaurant clean and neat, and the food delicious. I had a chicken patila kurma and a garlic naan both of which were delicious. I'll be coming back the next time I'm in the area. Also, there was some most excellent background music on throughout the meal which really added to the atmosphere!

If I was judging the Maharajah on the quality of its food and the waiting staff alone I’d be inclined to give it a 5⭐️. But as a venue it would only score 1 ⭐️ Firstly I know our visit was on a Thursday evening and we were the only folks in the restaurant all evening. we were shown to our table in what I can best decried as a cavernous dining hall with absolutely no atmosphere, not even pipped musac the decor was very stark and the lighting hard with an industrial feel. I’m sure if this place was full these issues would be less obvious. What was wrong with flock wallpaper and low level lighting. I’m sorry maharajah but the venue lets you down, although the food was fantastic.

We arrived without a booking about 6:30pm and it was quiet. Stayed until about 8pm when it was busy. Poppadoms and chutney, 2 curries rice and peshwari naan, coffee came to Β£57 including tip. Service and food was excellent.

Really friendly and helpful staff. The food was excellent in both flavour and presentation a big plus was that it was served at a nice relaxed pace allowing us to enjoy a leisurely meal. Will be back when next in the village

Food was great, a bit pricey. BUT the older lady waitress with grey permed hair was so incredibly rude, literally walked away when I was trying to order twice (there was no way she couldn't have heard me, we were shocked), ignored us most of the time. She made us feel so on edge and unwelcome that we cut the meal short. I did, however, meet a lovely Indian man who worked there before we left, who was really lovely -so it may just be that one staff member! Maharajah -this really needs addressing, this lady is putting people off from coming back!

I was staying in Steyning for two nights and stumbled upon this restaurant. I am so glad we went there - The food here is absolutely delicious - I would highly recommend the almashriqui chicken. The food came out piping hot and the service was top notch. There was also lovely music in the background and decor was very welcoming. I will definitely come again next time I’m in Steyning.
