Visited this pub for lunch today which we found when searching for dog friendly establishments. There was a spacious car park adjacent to the pub. Upon entering we had a very warm welcome from the lady behind the bar. The atmosphere inside was charming and very clean. Dogs are welcome in the bar area although there is a separate restaurant area for those who would prefer. Throughout our stay we felt very welcome and the lady behind the bar was attentive and chatty. The food we ordered was OK but didn't live up to the rest of the experience which was a pity. Possibly we simply chose the wrong meals and the rest of the menu may be outstanding. Despite this we will revisit simply for the welcome and surroundings.

Had one of the best vegan meals I've had tonight. The dishes are created vegan, rather than a 'normal' dish made vegan by removal or replacement.. also, they serve vegan custard as standard to everyone , a very rare treat! The chef is vegan, so whilst they have to serve non vegan food to ensure the business succeeds, the vegan food is top drawer in flavour and presentation. If you are anywhere near here, please try, you won't be disappointed.

The menu is packed with vegan and gluten-free options, each dish bursting with creativity and flavour, all at a very reasonable price. From the moment we stepped in, the service was exceptional—warm, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. The atmosphere was buzzing yet relaxed, and their dog-friendly policy made us feel even more welcome. The beer garden by the river is the perfect place to unwind and take it all in. We were lucky to visit during the final week of their current menu. For starters, we had the vegan fishcake served with garlic mayo and tomato salsa—unbelievably realistic and delicious—alongside perfectly seasoned meatless meatballs on toasted focaccia. Our mains - The stuffed butternut squash came with creamy lentils and new potatoes, while the plant-based Tuscan chicken was a showstopper. The sauce was so divine we couldn’t resist ordering extra bread just to savour every last drop. To finish, we enjoyed a vegan crème brûlée that was both impressive and indulgent—a flawless end to an incredible meal. We left full, happy, and already planning our return to explore their new menu. If you're looking for phenomenal plant-based food in a welcoming setting, The Brit is absolutely worth the visit. Bonus points for the wagging tails they welcome too!

This destination pub is a lovely place for an evening meal. It does feel special and worth the journey and will be returning ... However, I will be avoiding a night that has live music on. This made it very awkward for me with the noise and to get to the toilet, as the crowd was nearly pouring into back end of the pub. I did enjoy my evening until the live music started because it did make conversation very difficult. Food itself was beautifully presented and tasted amazing! My only complaints would be that the start prawn starter needs larger or more prawns, with some sort of sauce for the bread. I was also wondering where the rest of the duck breast went? The service was great and very welcome, while always making sure we were well looked after!

My family and I visited on Sunday 30 October and we all enjoyed our Sunday lunch. We gave 10/10 for the lamb, beef and chicken versions; one of the best Sunday lunches we have eaten. In addition, the puddings are to die for, so if you are looking to indulge yourself visit The Brit Pub: great welcome, great atmosphere and lovely food. Oh, and thank you for making such a fuss of our Miniature Schnauzer; he enjoyed himself too!

Met some friends here for lunch. We chose it based on good reviews on trip advisor, and it didn't disappoint! Beautiful food and drink (chicken in Parma ham was particularly gorgeous and they have a great choice of gins - I would recommend the pineapple). The staff were friendly and very helpful. I liked the decor and the beer garden overlooked the river which was very pretty. There is a set menu which is good value. They do play music but it didn't overshadow the conversation and added to the welcoming atmosphere. Lovely experience.

Good service and enjoyed the steak ciabatta with chips skin on fries. Food was served in good time. Beautiful outside seating area alongside the river bank.
