Great selection of Italian food. Ranging from pasta, cheese and fresh vegetables. The pizza is lovely to order too.
I went to A1 Foods yesterday after work after seeing a video showing fresh vegetables available that day. Before going, I noticed some negative reviews mentioning the owner’s rudeness, but since I had been there before and hadn’t had an issue, I decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, this time I experienced exactly what those reviews warned about. While I was simply picking out vegetables I intended to buy, the owner became extremely aggressive. He was shouting, swearing, and even said, “I hate people like you.” This behavior was completely unprovoked and shocking. I was so uncomfortable that I put my basket down and left the shop. The incident stayed with me the entire evening — no customer should be treated with such hostility, especially for something as normal as choosing produce. It’s disappointing because the store has potential, but being verbally abused by the owner is unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I hope the owner seriously reflects on how customers are treated.
Lovely pizza! Great, helpful service! A place for Italian food lovers. Had a pizza there and was transported to a happy place in my belly! It's not a restaurant, but we were allowed to eat in their area outside, as the weather was nice, it worked. Both people who helped us there were amazing, helpful and very friendly. Thanks so much!
One of the best places in Bedford to get italian food supplies. Also I recommend their pizzas to take away or enjoy them in a cozy terrace outside.
Great place, stocked full of reasonably priced items. Fresh counter is great too. Pizzas are delicious also!
HORRIBLE SHOP. We went to buy some Italian products in this place and everything was passed the expired date. I mentioned this to the owner who started to yell at me in a very aggressive way saying: 'this is my place and I set my rules. If you don't like it go away. In the UK I am allowed to sell expired products. I label what has expired so you need to look at the dates before buying them. If you buy them it is your only fault not mine.' I replied that not all the expired products clearly show that they were expired. Products are intentionally put not in order, to cause confusion, everything is very dirty and has broken packages. This is a horrible place. Yelling at me he scared my daughter too who cried thinking that man wanted to hit me. Do not go to this place and don't take your kids there. Pizza tastes disgusting, acid tomato sauce, gummy cheese and greasy ingredients. The place has very low hygiene rules, is dirty and they should not be allowed to cook and sell pizzas.
This place is a dream! It took me 10 years to find an Italian deli shop that doesn't rip you off with extortionate prices and I'm glad I finally found it! Amazing products and lovely staff!
Well stocked place, really friend staff and great pizzas!
The tray bake pizzas are a great size for larger families/groups and at a competitive price. We loved the spicy olives and the Italian bread (Pane Pugliese) that we ordered with our takeaway so I can’t wait to visit the store and see what else is available.
