Absolutely fantastic little gem of a pub. The staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. Great menu, food was absolutely delicious, the pasta with mussels was possibly the best pasta we’ve ever eaten and a gorgeous trio of partridge too! We sat in the cute little snug with the fire glowing and pretty Christmas lights. What a lovely place. Definitely worth a visit if you’re coming to Hastings old town.

I had the gigli pasta with mussels in white wine, shallot, garlic and parsley sauce, it was delicious. The girl at the bar said that the menu is constantly updated, she was very kind. I liked how the place is decorated. The price was reasonable. Thank you for the good service.

Now this was a choice by me after reading a number of reviews which did not fully cover just how good this independent pub is. We were VERY pleased that we went here. The menu was small which surprised my wife. However the food was AMAZINGLY tasty and well prepared and presented. I had the Venison Sausages with a Whole Carrot a Cassoulet of Lentils and Kale with deep fried Kale as well. The cassoulet was VERY tasty and with the added texture and taste of the deep fried kale (similar in texture to deep fried seaweed) and the Carrot was excellent. Now the Venison sausage is VERY, VERY good, but the skin on the 2nd sausage was a bit chewy to eat, so I removed ALL the venison and ate every bit of the venison filing as well as clearing my plate of everything but the bit of sausage skin. My wife had Onion Tarte tatin with bitter endive leaves served with a Caper and Walnut dressing with Grated Cheese on top. Overall we were Overwhelmed at just how good the food was. The beer is good too and I had a non alcoholic drink which included Angostura bitters and fruit juices which was very good. If we lived in the area, we would visit this independent pub every week at least. Oh and I had a dessert as well of Whipped custard, (apple and toffee compote) or similar with a light and crispy tuile wafer, which was ALL a revelation. Never tasted anything like this dessert. NO photo of dessert.

Came here because I walked past exploring the area while visiting for the day and could smell the food being prepared was instantly drawn to the pub. It was starting to get busy and most tables were booked but I was able to grab a space and enjoy a really good fish finger sandwich. Didn’t take long to come out, the chips were banging, the sandwich it self was one of the best fish finger sandwiches I’ve had! The tomato sauce was delicious and I found out it was homemade, tasted like a tomato soup (in my opinion). Good service, lovely people who work here and the atmosphere of the people here a good time. Definitely come if you’re heading to Hastings or if you’ve live here and looking for something new.

Absolutely loved this place!!! A very cool little pub, great atmosphere and wonderfully welcoming staff. We booked a table for lunch, and the food was just stunning. Well presented, fresh ingredients, lovely flavours and good value for money. The beers are great too!! If you’re in Hastings - GO HERE!!! Many thanks.

As a vegetarian visiting Haistings all I could find was fish restaurants with no alternative options until I stumbled upon The Crown. I’m glad I booked a table in this little Bistro. The food was great and the service super attentive. And most importantly I was able to order across a nice handful of vegetarian dishes, and good ones too! Certainly an amazing experience and I’d be sure to go back when in Haistings again.

What a wonderful little pub situated on the outerskirts of Hastings Old Town, me and my partner arrived on a Sunday night after having arrived and researched the place. Seemed busy on arrival and only got busier! I opted for the brisket which was phenomenal and she chose the fish, which had such a variety of fresh and wonderful flavours. Brilliant selection on the bar too! A wonderful stout and staff who were knowledgeable on the wines! Only reason for 4 stars was the wait we endured for a table outside, which unfortunately can't be booked in advance.
