Was only at castle Ashby to pick up a friend. The falcon looks like a lovely pub, but not open at the moment to members of the public. The only way to access the pub is to book a retreat and or room in the pub and its facilities

Sadly, this once nice place is closed unless you want a "room only" option. It is unclear that EVERYTHING else is unavailable. It is not clear on the website. It is not visible on Google or other mapping. They seem to think it's OK to let people find out after a long drive that they are in effect closed. Trying to explain this to them was impossible, as they kept interrupting me. They can't seem to understand how unreasonable it is not to make the very limited service clear online. Don't fret however, there are nice places with more polite management elsewhere. The Falcon is ruined now.

We had a fantastic couple of nights stay here. Jackie and Mandy went above and beyond as well as the rest of the team - thank you! Room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. Style of the hotel also beautiful along with the grounds. The food in the Eyas restaurant was a very special treat and delicious! The East Wing Lounge food was also fab. Breakfast was also a nice experience, new lovers of chai tea!! Castle Ashby gardens is also a short walk and free admission for guests - absolutely stunning and worth a visit. Would highly recommend the Falcon to anyone looking for a mini break and escape. We will be back again in future! Mollie and Josh x

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Falcon. We decided to take the bikes out to explore the local area which was great fun, followed by yoga and an open water swim. We also took advantage of the complimentary visit to the Castle Ashby gardens. The rooms are luxurious and the hotel as a whole is very well looked after. Every meal we had at the hotel was amazing including at the Eyas restaurant. The staff could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable and went above and beyond in every aspect. I would highly recommend a visit to the Falcon, you will not be disappointed.

A weekend visit for lunch. The grounds and buildings are quite beautiful and well presented. The restaurant itself is calm and has a good if quiet atmosphere. 5 star place. 2 star food. Staff and service were good. The difficulty is the mildly disappointing food. The menu is simple and not overly complicated. It's well presented. It's cooked well enough. It's just not particularly flavourful. It was all rather one dimensional. For £30-35 a main, it underwhelmed. It was all soft and lacked any variation in texture. And likewise, the taste was the same. Subtle, but one dimensional. The pork lacked saltiness and crunch. The vegetarian options likewise were all very soft and mildly one-flavoured, without any variation in texture or taste. Promised much and with a little more effort with the food, could have delivered a really lovely experience. But it didn't. Still nice enough. Just not nice enough to go back for seconds.

Unbelievable stay but NOT in a good way. It was like appearing in a farce but without the laughs. The room was cold, small, dark and in need of decorating in areas but was considered ‘deluxe’ & over £300 a night. The room had the heating set at ‘air con’ in January! The hotel staff couldn’t adjust it or provide a different room. Eventually, past midnight they managed to change the heating to… 30 degrees! We were then so hot we couldn’t sleep, hot air fans blasting out from the ceiling all night. We also had a drone outside our bathroom window.. Total invasion of privacy and after complaining it transpired it was there at the request and knowledge of the hotel! Reception staff told us that the hotel didn’t have a manager when we tried to discuss our experience, apparently just a part time ‘consultant’.. Poorly managed (by someone!). Ludicrous prices for food, drink and accommodation for a poor ‘luxury’ experience. You’d be better off staying at a budget hotel and save yourself £500…

I liked it, is pretty much as good as I can rate it. A beautiful setting with a well renovated hotel. A warm welcome and great food all round. The thing that let it down was the customer service which should have been better on 2 occasions which left a sour taste.

Absolutely wonderful !!! Upon arriving, the staff were some of the most pleasant people I've ever come across. The friendliness felt genuine and I was made to feel very welcome when being shown my room and the facilities. Amazing location. I felt more than safe and felt more than comfortable with leaving my car across the car park overnight - very few hotels achieved this from experience! But honestly, thank you very much to the staff and if I ever need to stay in the Northampton area again, I'm coming back here!

Had an overnight stay so we could experience the Yoga and open water swimming and we were not disappointed. Immaculately clean, staff attentive and friendly, bar and restaurant facilities excellent. We choose the fish and chips as a bar meal and had a very full breakfast in the morning. Great location for walking and shopping at the small retail outlet opposite who also had great cafe. Local produce, vegan diets catered for and an experience we would gladly repeat.
