We had a meal there yesterday for my daughter,s 40th .very dissappointed We mostly had roasts that we had to pick 2 weeks before going 3 of us chose small roasts yet they were all small and cost the same as large ,the food was barely warm ,meat tough and fatty especially the pork. First time visit and definately the last.

Booked the Walnut for a wake. I have no hesitation in recommending the Walnut for a family event. Staff were happy to show us round ahead of time so that we could view the rooms we'd be using. Good food. Excellent service. And of course it's less than 10 minutes drive from the Milton crematorium.

Stayed here after a mammoth 24 mile walk from MK down the canal. Arrived in the evening to a fantastic band and busy bar. Stayed the night, room was spacious and well stocked with everything you need. Included breakfast was delicious and the staff throughout were friendly and helpful. A great gem off the beaten track. Trains and lights from track did disturb sleep a bit but would definitely come back thanks to the staff and food!

My partner suggested this place to meet her after her hike. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely village and this bar and restaurant that served a delicious Sunday roast. My daughter had the small free range chicken and I had the large roast beef. I was please to be offered a choice of pink or well done. The food came, was perfectly cooked, and meat & vegetables were delicious. For desserts we had their home made ice cream which was a real treat. Interesting flavours like roast banana and burned chocolate (at least I think that’s what they were called). Staff were friendly and helpful, and the toilet was clean and tidy (always a good barometer as to how good a place is). Definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.

Incredible meal, menu choice was second to none. Service from waiting staff was exceptional. After the meal we went into the bar and enjoyed a couple of hours of disco/soul music by their live band, which again was incredible. A great night out, can't compare to anything we've done before.

Stayed overnight and took advantage of bed, breakfast and evening meal offer. It was fantastic value for money. The food was superb. We had 3 courses. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Only slight issue was that there was live music in the evening which was incredibly loud and there was nowhere to sit that was quiet enough for a chat.. This visit was for a family catch up with relatives that are spread across the country so the elders in the group went to bed early because they couldn't hear us. Sadly this cut a lovely evening short. Would stay again but check that it was not on a live music evening.

My wife, Danielle, and I recently had our wedding at The Walnut Tree Inn. Chrissie and her team went all out to make our day absolutely incredible, from helping calm my nerves before the ceremony to tending to all our guests’ needs throughout the day. The team made sure every part of the day ran as smoothly as possible. From the ceremony itself to the wedding breakfast, and later the evening party, everything went according to plan and turned out wonderful. They were really accommodating to some last minute changes too. The food served for our wedding breakfast (both vegan and non-vegan variants), as well as the evening buffet spread, was the topic of many conversations since it was all so delicious. Our guests were all very satisfied with their meals. Many parts of wedding planning can be stressful, but every aspect of the venue itself was handled expertly by Chrissie, so we are truly thankful to her and the team for relieving much of the load in the build-up to our most perfect day. THANK YOU! Oliver and Danielle

We held our Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebration meal and Disco at the Walnut Tree Inn on 5th November 2022. We booked nearly all their rooms several months in advance in order to accommodate our guests, together with the Hotel's main function room for our party. The whole evening went off without a hitch - the meal was absolutely delicious, the service was flawless, and the DJ they recommended was brilliant!!! The rooms were all extremely comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was every bit as good as the evening meal. We would like to thank the Walnut Tree Inn staff (particularly Chrissy) for making this event a very special and memorable occasion for us!!!
