Came here for lunch. The pub was well-decorated in the Christmas spirit. The food was nice, had a lasagne and an apple crumble dessert with ice cream. It was good to have a choice of options for a vegan meal. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The building is in a beautiful location in Endon and there is easy pavement/road access and parking available for those who drive. A touch expensive but to be expected. Would recommend.

I have just visited The Black Horse for a meal. Oh my goodness the pan fried chicken was out of this world. Thank goodness the plates do not have a pattern, not a scrap was left. The welcome, service first class. I will most definitely be returning. Thankyou to all the staff.

Called in and ordered 4 takeaway Sunday Lunches. The pub was busy, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating.Had a drink whilst they were being prepared. They were well packaged, stayed warm in transit and tasted delicious.

Enjoyed a lovely family meal. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Catered well for Vegans, though I understand they changed the menu since our visit.

What a disappointment!!! A treat for my wife and good friends turned out one of the worst experiences I've ever had dining out. Drinks were OK but it took nearly an hour for our food to arrive??? which incidentally we had to pay for beforehand ( Now I know why!!!) On arrival mine looked ok but the wife's Lasagne was cold and absolutely tiny (Aldi single portions were 3 times the size) My friends rump steak was no more than 5mm thick (I'd hazard a guess it was more like frying steak) and not medium rare at all but how could it be being that thin?. The chips were ringing wet with oil and the side salad a joke. We complained to the staff ( A lovely young girl) Who tried to pass off everything as normal??? So we asked for the management, We we're gobsmacked to see what we now know was the owner who attended the table with 10 pounds (£5 note and 5 pound coins) and no apology whatsoever. The meals and a round of drinks was just over £100 so 10 pounds I felt was an insult. Incidentally the place was pretty empty for a Saturday night (Early warning signs) with no atmosphere whatsoever. Save your money or go down the road to the Toby carver( Plough. ) Alternatively weatherspoons in leek which was in my opinion better than this place, and that's saying something. You've been warned.

Called for lunch with my family. Lovely refurbishment. The pub was quite busy. Greeted by a lovely young man who explained we would have a wait but we still went ahead with having lunch. Yes, there was a wait but worth it. Manager came to us for a chat and apologies for wait. Lovely lady. Food was delicious, very generous portions. Once up and running to full capacity of staff it can only get better.

Managed to get in with only 20 mins notice on a weekend. Staff were very friendly and very efficient. Vegan menu was good, can't comment on the rest of the options though. Parking was a bit tight but managed to get a space in the actual car park rather than on the road which was pretty full. Would definitely go back.
