Absolutely world-class carvery! We live in the North-West, and my in-laws live in the East Midlands, so I was looking for somewhere in-between we could meet up. Fortune smiled on us that day as I picked the New Broom at random, and we've been going back a couple of times a year for the last 5 years. Simply, the best Carvery I have ever had!

great family run pub, children’s play area. very friendly landlord and lady, close to attractions such as alton towers, churnet valley railway, nice and peaceful place with plenty of space and not over crowded. ordered food and this was very well cooked with good portion sizes. this is our go to place when over this way.

I found this little gem after a day of rollercoasters! The staff were very attentive and so helpful And provided such a warm welcome! The food was fabulous and so tasty! There was a fantastic selection on the menu, unfortunately we were so stuffed. We didn’t try the pudding menu, but we will definitely be back again! With also having a disability they made sure I was able to pick a table. I was able to go under and be at the best height worth to eat food and make sure I had everything I needed and explained the man thoroughly if I didn’t understand anything!

Lovely campsite with an owner who couldn’t be more accommodating very friendly and welcoming. The toilets are perfectly adequate and the pub on-site is beautiful. The only small downside is there’s no shelter over the sink, so washing up in the rain isn’t the nicest, but I suppose that’s all part of the camping experience. We stayed here for Alton Towers and the distance was perfect. Yes, it’s next to a busy road, but John gave us ear buds which meant we had a much better night’s sleep. Our review is based on a stay during term time.

Staff can't do enough for you, very welcoming and accomodating. Touring pitches/ amenities are great despite the weather being against us. Lovely relaxed atmosphere inside the pub, home from home. Fantastic food and nice beer on tap. Highly recommend

Visited for lunch - not campsite. If I could give more stars I would. The best carvery I have ever had. Good variety. Everything piping hot and first class. Staff wonderful. Could not fault anything. Definitely be returning very soon.

This place is amazing i reviewed it last year, its in a perfect place for Alton Towers either camping caravanning or Motorhomes. And pet friendly. Not to far from Uttoxeter and the Racecourse. Also not to far from the Potteries. The food is top class cooked just to perfection hot and tasty. Friendly atmosphere great staff I know its getting tough we are pensioners and have to watch the pennies but we have a date night once a week (get the sick bowl out LOL ) and we go a different place every Friday . I had a mixed grill £16.95 but here goes 2 eggs 1 sausage lamb chop onion rings a gammon steak a succulent steak fillet garden peas and home cooked chips that folks is value for money. Just to say to the guys at The New Broom thanks for a great evening.

Lovely little site. Great toilet/shower facilities. Unfortunately pub was closed due to patrons having Covid so we couldn't eat there as planned. In the small but lively village of Checkley and Tean is a short drive away - good fish and chips shop. Went to church in Checkley. Most welcoming. Country walks from site. Only negative for me was that you could hear traffic from B road and nearby A road but I am very sensitive to that. Didn't worry husband at all!

Just spent three nights at New Broom camping. The camping field was nice and level and showers and toilets close by. The facilities were clean and water hot. The pub and restaurant offer a variety of food at fair prices. The owner and staff went out of their way to ensure a good stay and nothing was too much trouble for them. Used this as a base for exploring the Peak District by motorcycle. Good parking area also. It ticks every box for me. Will definitely be back.
