   Was able to get a table at 6pm on Saturday night. The pub was busy with a really good atmosphere. Excellent selection of beers, not many places around us do Asahi on draught so a tick in the box there. The menu provided plenty of choice. Two of our party had the fish and chips, which they said was really good, light and crisp batter and plenty of fish, good chips too. I had the lamb shank, which was tender, really tasty and plenty of it. The carrots that came with it were the nicest I've had. The staff and service was top notch, from the moment we walked in, both at the bar and at the table they were excellent, very friendly, professional, a real credit to the Shoulder of Mutton. 3 mains, 6 alcoholic drinks the bill was just over £90, considering the quality it was good value for money and we'll definitely return. Thank you.

   Family Sunday lunch was great. Had to order in advance but it speeded up service and the food was piping hot. Very helpful staff who helped to relocate us as we had 4 elderly persons 86 to 90 years old in the group

   amazing food at a good price, the only negative thing i have to say is that it is always packed ( not a bad thing really ) but it can become a bit claustrophobic because there is just too many people inside . the food is lovely though and they do nice desserts too.

   We stayed in Fulford for a week. Visited here three times and couldn’t fault it any time. The food is absolutely gorgeous. Fresh ingredients, generous portion sizes and cooked to perfection. Special mention for the Sunday dinners, chicken fajitas and homemade cheesecake. The staff are extremely welcoming and lovely. This is a place you need to visit. Also bonus for being dog friendly !! Plenty of vegetarian options

   Visited here with family between Christmas and New Year as we were staying nearby and needed a dog friendly place to eat. We were more than impressed :)) The atmosphere was lovely with log burners in the front part of the pub- making it feel cosy and festive. The young girl behind the bar was lovely and friendly- as well as some of the local punters who were in there- they made the effort to chat with us and play with our little dog. The food was tasty and fresh and were generous portions. Would definitely recommend visiting here if you’re nearby. We would 100% go back!

   Booked for a Sunday roast, we both had the soup to start which was lovely with a nice warm crusty bread roll. Then roast beef dinner. All served piping hot! Staff friendly. Will definitely be returning
