   I went while on holiday October 2025. I chose it due to the fact it was rated highly by the locals. We were not disappointed. The roast dinners are fab. Good luck if you think you can get through the larger of the 2 choices. My wife had the small, and needed help. I had a burger and it was superb, texture and quality and flavour all out of this world. If we go to anywhere in Norfolk again we'll make this one of our treats for the week. Worth travelling to.

   We ate here completely by chance after sticking a pin in a map and we were very lucky we did. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. there was a big choice and it all seemed to be cooked freshly. We had a vegan with us and there was an adequate choice on the menu for them too. If we were ever in that area again, we would definitely go there again.

   What a lovely place to eat and just while away some time. The service is superb. You're looked after but not harassed. The service is done professionally but with a level of sincerety to make you feel welcome. The menu also comes with options where lighter bites are available for those that want smaller portions. There's a bus stop outside where there's buses during the evening on an hourly basis both to and from Dereham and Norwich. The menu gives a good mix of food but not too much to over complicate matters. Clean and tidy with a nice sheltered beer garden at the back.

   We reserved a table at The lodge and had a lovely warm greeting. Our server ?Shane was attentive and warming. The food was amazing and we are both truely stuffed. Will add it to our top restaurants when we return camping!

   Been here 3 times now, always good food and service. Had the ribs last week and my wife had the steak. Probably one of the best meals we've ever had, no joke. Highly recommended! (Excuse the photo, she doesn't like tomatoes!)

   Popped in on way home from the beach for tea with the two dogs. No problem getting a table and dogs are welcome in the bar area and outside in the garden, which is quite deceptively big. Had a fun guy burger which was really messy but so nice, other meal was a chicken G&G burger. Burger was home made and really tasty whilst chicken burger was a chicken breast. Plenty of options to customise your burgers or fries we went for chunky chips. Had a couple of drinks too and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Would suggest booking if you want to come and dine as the phone seemed to be non stop with people booking for other nights. Didn’t look in the shop attached to it so can’t comment on it. Wish this pub was local to me back home! If you in the surrounding area recommend giving it a try you won’t be disappointed.

   We were driving from Yorkshire to Southwold and needed a lunch stop. Thanks to Google we found The Lodge. This place is off the main road so if you don't do your research you will be missing a treat. Lovely friendly, attentive staff and great food. We had the Nachos to start followed by a burger, these are large burgers, and beef chilli. All of which were delicious. My only complaint was that I was too full to enjoy the bread and butter pudding! Search this restaurant out, you won't regret it.
