We were disappointed with the restaurant reduced menu for New Year's Day evening meal. The majority were breakfast offerings. Nothing with fresh vegetables. The restaurant was cold as the open fire had not been lit. The bed in room 11 was uncomfortable as it was sunken at the foot of it. It needs to be replaced with a new one.

Hotel chosen for a birthday celebration. On arrival saw a sign that it was a "Four in a bed winner". Room looked lovely - bottled water and a range of tea/coffee. Unfortunately bin had not been emptied, quite a few cobwebs around room and mold in shower. Restaurant had a wide range of options (although a vegetarian code this had not been added to the meals - waitress said maybe because menu was relatively new). Cheeseboard was amazing. Not informed of unavailable items until ordered. Also the case at breakfast but this time not told until breakfast delivered without items. Staff chatting at other end of restaurant rather than checking on diners. On return to room door card didn't work. Cleaner said it had expired so had to return to reception to have it reactivated. A shame that a place with potential appears to be suffering from staff not really bothered in terms of attention to detail and customer service. (We are still waiting for contact from a manager regarding a more serious issue - didn't even raise the ones above). Yes, I did watch four in a bed when I got home. Did it reflect our experience? No it didn't. Appears to have been filmed a while ago...

We visited after spending the afternoon with the grandchildren at the Pantomine. The meal was from the lunch menu as we were too early for the evening menue. However there was loads to choose from and portions were very big. Presentation was lovely and the service by the waitress GABBIE was five star!! Very polite and attentive. We will definitely be visiting again.

Oh dear, had two previous stays at The White Lion and both times it was great. This time it just didn't feel like the staff were on it!!. Checked in, given key card but room not cleaned or bed made. Returned from night out, popped into bar 10.50pm for night cap to be told bar had shut!! Bar on website states open until 11pm. Breakfast took an age to come, neighbouring table seated after us and had eaten their cereal and full cooked breakfast by the time ours arrived. When the breakfast came it was mediocre. Room was good, comfy bed, bathroom has everything you need but a clean around back of taps was needed. This is a beautiful old hotel but a little more thought is needed about how it is run and staffed.

We have just had a wonderful overnight stay at The White Lion Hotel, Weston. There is a large Car Park with a wheelchair accessible ramp, the rooms were excellent & beautifully decorated. The Staff were very helpful & professional. We were a large party of 16 (one wheelchair) & had a nice large table. Meals were excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone. We will definitely be returning. Thanks to all.

23rd December 2002 We went here without a booking and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was served in a very short time & it was hot, well presented and cooked to perfection. My family had travelled from North Yorkshire. They were very impressed also. This is a lovely hotel and we will visit again for sure.

The White Lion is a large pub with lots of space in a variety of styles from small personal rooms to reception rooms and a traditional pub bar. The menu is extensive and the food offered tasty and generous. The staff were helpful and friendly. A good vibe and a lovely experience.

Very nice pub and restaurant. Was busy on Saturday night when we visited for birthday party. Large car park, real ales, plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Good size Terrace with decking area and plenty of seating. Definitely worth a visit!
