Check in hotel at 18:30 after driving from London .. went straight to the restaurant for about 1850 to be told they couldn’t take me till 20:30 when I challenged them on it I got that back to 19:45 but the restaurant only looked at about 35% capacity.. so I had a drink at the bar and then went in at 19:45 still not busy but anyways only 4 floor staff for a big place ? Food was actually ok just completely rushed, dirty cutlery, no service never more than 50% of tables seated and well just a mess. Staff not well trained really poor attitude and I didn’t enjoy it at all so much so I was very annoyed by the way I was treated.. then paying my bill the manager never even asked if my food was ok. Best avoided.

It is improving and the menu was new. Not a very well paired menu to be honest, a bit scattered in terms of cuisine. Basically it reads like a blind survey of what makes 100 random people happy. That said, the food was well prepared and delivered as the menu says. Sad to say that there is no local flair to it… nothing indicated in the menu or on the plate that I had anything unique to the area. That said, the food was good enough and the 4 star rating comes from the service that was quick but patient, caring and attentive. The atmosphere is sharp, loud and the oppositely of what the rest of the hotel projects. There are few options if you stay here so mentally prepare yourself for the bistro if you eat there and you will be fine.

I took my wife here for our 28th wedding anniversary. The restaurant was nice and so were the staff. The food was ok, but I was a bit disappointed with my steak. Other than that it was a very nice evening and the slice of orange tart with happy anniversary written in chocolate was a lovely touch

An excellent meal, that was accompanied by excellent service. All our dishes were great: cauliflower shoots starter, salmon steak and the chicken escalope was the star. Fresh, moist and crisp. The cheesecake looked impressive but wasn’t that good taste wise. Dishes are overpriced, which is the only negative. But it’s expected with captive audience hotel guests. A slick operation with good food…that’s a bit pricey.

We enjoyed an excellent meal here the other week. The Steak was cooked perfectly and the staff were very friendly. A nice relaxed meal in some lovely surroundings.

A really uncomfortable dining experience tonight. The food we eventually received after an incredible wait was lovely, however, not as described on the menu. If you only deliver one type of bread and chips, do not advertise several different ones on the menu. Also got a single piece of toast with a pot of paté so had to ask for more toast so the rest didn't go to waste. Every single member of staff seemed to come across embarrassed to serve you your food, which together with every single table around you raising complaints about your food made for an entirely uncomfortable dining experience. Didn't order dessert as who knows how long it would have taken to come, all desserts we saw served looked disappointing and most pertinently, we couldn't wait to get out of there!

Had chicken supreme . Just a dry bit of chicken . When questioning the staff was told that is how the chef serves it . No sauce and no flavours. Won’t eat here again.

It took 25 minutes for someone to take our order even though it wasn’t busy. People Who came after us were served before us. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco which was plonked on the table so we opened it ourselves and poured it into our wine glasses. (Prosecco glasses weren’t offered). When my tiny steak came nobody asked if I wanted any sauces or if the meal was ok. The food was mediocre and our waitress clearly hated being there. I know most people don’t enjoy their job (myself Included) but you should hide that when dealing with customers. The hotel itself is lovely.

Have just had one of the most uninspiring, bland and overpriced meals I've had in a long time. The Brasserie is, at best, the same as a Premier Inn. Awful seating, boring layout, lights you hit your head on every time you stand up and unmotivated, untrained staff. The website of Crewe Hall makes it look like you'll have dinner in a top notch establishment but my husband and in-laws were very disappointed. The waiting staff were sullen, lacking any sort of service training and didn't know the menu. We asked for a non alcoholic Gin and the only thing they have is Rekorderling. Two of us had slow cooked belly pork....obviously just boiled and then the skin had been blow torched for a nano second. No crispy skin or any flavour. Accompanied by nothing but boiled brocoli and two beige hashbrowns that were meant to be rosti. The caesar salad was a big bowl of romaine lettuce where it was hunt the (soggy) croutons and the odd shaving of parmesan. Asked for topping of sea bass which was overcooked and dry. No dressing. Final meal choice was a rib eye steak which was not cooked as requested with a tiny salad and some half decent chunky chips. Each time our food was served or taken away the waiter leant over the table, noisily stacking and scaping plates instead of being a bit more discreet. The maitre'd mostly wandered round with his hands in his pockets, asked if we wanted coffee (we said no) then said were we ready for the bill like he was trying to usher us out. Our two course dinner for four people, with only two of us having one glass of wine each, came to £150 which is beyond overpriced for what we experienced. I would not waste your time coming here. There are far better local pubs in the area with far better atmosphere.
