I was shocked to discover that a really ethical company still exists in the UK. Jones the Bootmaker promises to replace or refund any faults you may have. No quibble about returning with a genuine fault after 2 months and extremely helpful in finding a suitable alternative. I will be back ! Colin Strachan
A note to the manager: not everyone is up for a fight. To the staff member, your sarcasm was unprofessional. I arrived in a good mood, but the exchange policy rules were laid down before I could speak. I mentioned I had been advised differently over the phone, but I was fine with the suggested terms. Still, I was met with defensiveness and sarcasm from another staff member. I followed their instructions and left, but I enjoy their shoes enough to continue buying online. I won’t be returning to the store.
The shop itself is great I have always loved the brand jones the bootmaker. The one in Brighton has a lovely stock of footwear but the staff are absolutely atrocious. The manger was abrupt, rude and was not focused on any of the customers needs. Two ladies left and said to me they were disgusted with her attitude. The man who was working there seemed shocked when I asked if they had a size 7 in this particular shoe. It was an awful experience

So, ran in.. picked shoes, no size 12. GREAT ADVICE and service from lovely gent serving. Purchased on Saturday late afternoon, on spec and trustworthy advice and arrived on the Tuesday after Easter Bank holiday weekend. After a day searching Brighton for clothing and being ignored in every shop but Woodies and here at Jones by young teenage shop assistants with no chutzpah on basic wage it was SO refreshing to be attended to by staff who were refreshing, energetic (even at the end of a long Saturday) who wanted to serve and sell. Big thumb’s up. Thank you.
Attentive knowledgeable gent served me. I was trying to find size 12 wide mens shoes and Jones shoes are generous. Size 11 fitted perfectly. One of the few stores in Brighton with a good smart shoe selection. I recommend them and will be back next time I need quality smart shoes.
I have visited Jones a few times, buying a certain lady in my life her favourite presents .. I am always impressed with the brand!
