A foul wet night so not surprising that the pub was quiet. We were the only people eating. My friend had a pleasant steak and chips but I regretfully chose the tai red veg curry because I wanted a lighter meal. Oddly it came with popadums and mango chutney! It was very thin and watery and had little flavour apart from some heat. I ate most of it while we chatted but it was so dull, disappointing and seriously overpriced for what it was. The service was efficient and pleasant, the roaring fire and Xmas decs were charming and I enjoyed the Rioja but I won’t eat here again.

Turned up on a rainy Saturday afternoon, Leah the manager squeezed us in despite it being full. We had just over a 1 hour wait but she was always updating us. Food and service was great. (Hunters chicken & steak and ale pie). Yeah offered us a complimentary dessert due to the lengthy wait and we were extremely happy with everything. This is a very popular pub and I can see why. We'll be back (with a reservation)

Visited for my grandson’s birthday. Our main meal as lovely but we had over an hour’s wait for it. No apology and certainly no free drink to compensate. Extremely disappointed with the ice cream sundae. It was three small balls of ice cream with a drizzle of sauce and a wafer and cost £6.50. It wasn’t a sundae and it was very overpriced. We had searched for a pub with a garden and play facilities for my grandson. Although the weather was drizzly rain, we did go outside so he could play. I think we would come here again for drinks in the garden in the summer but maybe not food.

Great little traditional pub. Had an enjoyable meal here with friends. Really enjoyed the breakfast style burger and thought they were quite generous with the bread for the soup (so often in pubs and restaurants, they scrimp on the bread).

Had a lovely meal here. Good spacious car park, staff were attentive and friendly, the waitress went through the menu telling us catch of the day, soup of the day etc. Great choices on the menu. Delicious food. Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of the food. Tucked straight in. Would definitely come here again.

What a disappointment. This pub could have been so much better. It's rather run down. It was cold,. It has an open fire and a big log burner. Both of which were unlit ! The Landlord was friendly but seemed out of control. He kept rushing around seemingly in a panic. The whitebait starter was £8 . It consisted of eight headless fish, outrageous. Although the price was reduced to £4 after my complaint. The landlord told me that several people had complained so this was not a one off event. However the Fish and chips was excellent, even though the fish was covered in salt despite requesting no salt. Lots of carpark space and kids activities. Also quite a lot of outside seating. I won't be rushing back. This place needs to get it's act together FAST!

Darren, our server, was very friendly, warm and inviting, with an excellent attitude. The food was amazing, worth the price point. The environment was ideal for our young son. All in all a very pleasant experience. Would recommend it to family and friends.

Had two great midweek meals here recently, tonight (a Monday) was outstanding (chef Ivan is superb) and the area manager spent time chatting to us about the plans for the various local pubs the group has taken on in Sussex and explained all about the local drinks and how our food was locally sourced and made. Without a doubt will return and it's great to see The Half Moon back on form again. If I could give six stars I would. Thank you!
