A colleague booked our Christmas work meal here for a nice sit down get together. When we arrived it was clear it was not setup for Christmas meals and was carrying on as a normal Friday night down the pub. It was absolutely packed and so noisy that you couldn’t even talk. It felt very uncomfortable being the only table set up for a Christmas meal, stuck against a wall with people gathered around so close, shouting, swearing, spilling drinks it was just not a nice experience. From experience a Christmas meal is either separated or a part is closed off. When I asked if there was anywhere quieter to sit I was told quite abruptly that it’s a Friday night and Christmas so it’s going to be busy in my opinion if you are booking a sit down meal it’s obvious you want to feel relaxed and be able to talk. We all just wanted to leave but had paid a deposit. Then the food came up and to be fair the traditional Christmas dinner looked nice but the duck was inedible because it was so salty as was the mash. I did not complain because I had already been made to feel uncomfortable for asking to move and to be honest the environment was so uncomfortable the majority of us didn’t feel like eating anyway. Later into the meal they did offer us a complementary glass of cheap Prosecco because of the noise but most of it got left because we couldn’t wait to get out of there. My advice…if you are going to have sit down Christmas meals, at least have it in an area where it is relatively quiet or at least warn the person booking it that it’s going to be as noisy as it was.

Lovely pub, Lovely atmosphere, Lovely staff! .. Roast was very disappointing though - For £19.50 I'd expect more than some sliced tough fatty beef (inedible) two small roasties, a Yorkshire pudding half a sliced carrot and some finely chopped veg with gravy! I'd come again for a drink, but absolutely not to eat . Sorry guy's.

Tables out the front are great for drinks and people watching on a nice sunny day. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good, halloumi flatbread and chicken burgers which were tasty and nice chips.

Went here on a Friday night and it was really loud and busy (we made reservations before hand which was needed as it was packed). It was hard to get a drink at the bar as lots of people were cramming into the bar space. I'm quite tiny so for me to be able to get served at the bar was a bit of a nightmare. Because of how loud it is, it's hard to have and follow conversation. As a neurodivergent (ASD) person myself this was not a great place to be. There was also a weird smell of beer, mulled wine and a fire place which mixed together in a not so pleasant smell. Quite an overwhelming expetience The food was nice. Had the hen solo burger which was Delicious. Perhaps on a quieter day this would be a nicer play to go to.

We were (very) late for our booking and hadn’t been able to get through to ask for it to be moved. The staff were all so accommodating and the manager (sorry didn’t catch his name!) was just great and made a big table up for us very quickly. It was so appreciated and I will be recommending the pub to everyone I know! Thank you again for making space for us.

Great food and stuff. We visited here on Halloween weekend for drinks and food before heading off to see a gig. It was busy as normal. There's extra booths out the back. Managed to find a seat and ordered a banging vegan burger which came quickly and was proper tasty. Have been here several times before and will definitely vist several times again.

Super nice spot for a pop in drink, service with a smile. Place to sit out back or right in the heart of the lanes!!
