   Visited today to buy 3 items, I asked a member of staff their whereabouts and was told where to go, i followed what I thought she said and found myself at the hardware counter downstairs which I thought might be the right place for what I needed. Asked a chap for the whereabouts of required items and he was sending me back from where I came from (this shop is a complete maze) when I said the lady shop assistant sent me this way his answer was " no she didnt " with no attempt to help I left without making a purchase (obviously)and would never attempt to shop there again So much for the friendly family run bussines I would have liked to add no stars at all

   I use this place all the time they always have exactly what I need. But today was different I didn't know what I needed I'm an average 40s man that will more than happily look at a problem with my house and after putting it off for a week order the main part I need and then go ask advice. Well I came in to day for a plastic bolt and some sealant. The people that I spoke to were not specialists in plumbing but I had a photo and we puzzled it out together. With the ball cock arrangement and the things they sold me and advised given freely it was a 5 minute job and 35 minutes drying. Thanks for being there for me

   I went in to Thorns, a shop I have used for many years, on 9thJanuary at 3.15pm, to buy some batteries. There was a young man behind the desk in the basement walking up and down with his hands in his pockets and not making eye contact. I asked him very politely a question to which I got a surly "yes". I put my purchase on the counter and he said "£3.60 ". I told him that I wanted to pay by contactless. He put the cost in the card machine but didn't move it towards me so I just stood there until he moved it. Thorns should not be ruining their reputation by employing people with very bad attitude.
