Substitutes vegan items with dairy items. Lack of understanding or training on dietary requirements is very evident.

Absolutely appalling experience at the Brighton Sainsbury’s yesterday evening (14th Nov, around half 6). Popped in with our 3-year-old and 5-month-old baby. The little one started crying her lungs out and obviously needed sorting straight away, we stopped near the scan and pay area (not even blocking it) to check on her. This older staff member, must’ve been late 50s at least, working there was having none of it. We apologised and said we just needed a minute to make sure our baby was alright. You should’ve seen his face, proper annoyed, shaking his head at us. He huffed and puffed his way around us to put some scanners back, making these irritated noises and muttering something under his breath. Couldn’t make out what he said but the tone said it all. The whole thing literally added one second to whatever he was doing. We weren’t in his way. Now, I don’t want to throw accusations around, but we’re Asian and given how put out he seemed by our very existence, I wouldn’t be shocked if there was more to it. Can’t prove anything but the hostility felt personal. Been shopping at Sainsbury’s for years but won’t be going back to this branch. My wife was really shaken up by it - you don’t treat people like that, especially parents with small children. We’ve told all our friends to give this place a hard miss. Management needs to have an immediate serious word. Someone with that attitude and zero compassion shouldn’t be dealing with customers. Really disappointed.

This store is in a great location remember before this store and surrounding flats were even built. We have used the Car Park underneath twice with My Parking App....to leave the car overnight when staying at The Grand which works out so much cheaper than the NCP car parks in central Brighton and you feel the car is more secure. Great sized store.

The Argos click and collect is painful. Put your order number into a screen at child height to then stand around like a lemon for an unknown amount of time (at best 10 minutes at worst 25 minutes) whilst wondering if anyone is actually bringing the item out. Such fun

Easily the worst Sainsbury's I've ever been to (and that is a really low bar... we're talking Sainsbury's here). A joke of a selection of anything and everything. There's simply no food of any decent nutritional value there; on the other hand, it's stocked full of items with like >20% fat content or 100% sugar content. To be fair though, the staff are very polite. No complaints here at all.

Massive Sainsbury's with a lot of choice, from food to home goods. Having this supermarket so close to my house is amazing but opening times are a bit strange. Would love for it to be open later than 8pm (and 5pm on Sundays). Otherwise super convenient

Decent Sainsbury’s. Spacious enough and feels fairly clean and tidy for the most part. Queues move relatively quickly. At rush hour (eg after 5PM) it still feels like a much better experience than at the coops & Aldi. Good selection of food, snacks and alcohol. Sains is getting more expensive but that doesn’t reflect poorly on this individual shop

It's horrible. The food isn't actually all that nice and the environment is bleak and dystopian. If you don't want to use the stiff service checkout there's only ever one till open so it takes ages and yet it isn't achy cheaper than elsewhere so you wonder why.

The staff are generally friendly and it had a good range of products and some good special offers. If I could change one things it’s to stop treating us as stupid - we do notice when you try to hide price increases by reducing the quantities. It’s not your fault everything is going up - please just be honest and transparent about it.

A great range of veggie & vegan alternatives and a huge selection of booze. But that's pretty much where the praise stops. The entrance is two doors that lead into one which always causes jams. The self-service till area is so tightly packed that anyone with a trolley blocks the whole area. Staff are fine and helpful if you need them but clearly understaffed and suffer as a result.
