I can't remember the last time any shop did that for me! I love this store and what it represents, it has such an important role in the local community. Since starting a more mindful lifestyle a few years ago, Harriet's of Hove has been there for me, from nuts and pulses to every day reusable items. The staff are a great team, always helpful and smiley, no matter if it's a quiet day or Saturday lunchtime. I honestly couldn't do without this store.”

“Best Pasta in Brighton hands down!! Mama mi truly is one of Brightons best hidden gems. Giuseppe (the main man) is incredibly kind and charismatic and clearly loves what he does! The whole vibe of the restaurant is great too, really feels like you're back in Italy. The bruschetta was the tastiest I ever had in my life (I've had a lot) and the food overall was incredible! Shame about the opening hours but I heard they will do evening service once a week in winter.”

“I came for the bottomless brunch. Harri the bartender was great and made sure we always had cocktails ready to drink, there was a lovely lady called Lisa serving us. Honestly service here has always been great. I prefer the general menu to the bottomless brunch menu but that doesn’t take away from the experience at all!”

“We hadn’t reserved a table and we were sat quickly. We ordered 2 delicious cocktails which were good value. We ordered the Ortolan with a gluten free base and the buono and bello . Both were awesome. The service was speedy and efficient.”

“I love this shop! Hannah is very helpful and knowledgable. We regularly ask advice from Hannah and always buy Riley's kibble and treats from her. For such a small shop it has an incredible range of food, treats, toys and accessories for dogs, cats, birds and other pets. It's fab!”

“A hidden gem of Brighton. Very first time here and didn't disappoint for choosing this place. Love craft beer and they are the best one for serving craft. Such nice selection of beers from IPA, stout, Sour, neipa etc. Good choice for cask and keg. I like the atmosphere. Not very big place but have plenty of seats. Bar guy was cool. There were board games and such nice green house plants.”

“Very tasty and great atmosphere. Bottomless soft drinks and free popcorn while waiting for our order. We stayed in the basement, but they have tables upstairs and outside as well. Over all very good place, large menu for vegans as well!”

“Very good, large toasted spectacular sandwiches. Great flavour and fillings. Visually impressive. The coffee is good, so also the coffee mugs. It is very satisfying and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. The service is quick. Stylish interiors. There are not many tables inside (feels a bit crowded and stuffy), but the outside areas have good sitting options. If you have to wait a bit, It is definitely worth it. We will be back again! Highly recommend when you are in Hove.”

“Really nice little cafe. Bright and colourful and the girl serving from South Africa was really friendly! We only ordered drinks and some chips to eat outside (17.08.24 about 15:25) and we were served quickly. Chips were brought out to the table for us outside so we didn’t need to wait for them. Will definitely go back - the burgers that the chef was cooking looked DELICIOUS and so did the chicken wings that we saw them taking out!”

“Great variety of choice. Very friendly staff. One little issue: I have witnessed a lot of shoplifting, so I would advise you to place the most expensive products (like all the cosmetics at the back of the shop) to the front of the shop as those are the ones I have seen being stolen. Once I saw a smartly dressed tall woman literally putting expensive cosmetic products into her pocket. It was shocking to see.”

The owner and staff were incredibly welcoming, making it feel like a warm, local gem rather than just a restaurant. The food is some of the best vegetarian cuisine I’ve ever had, every dish packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and served with genuine warmth. You can tell everything is made with love and tradition. The setting is cosy and intimate, and the personalised service made it feel extra special. “Coffee At 33 – Small shop, big heart (and seriously good coffee!) The owner is incredibly sweet and friendly — you feel welcome the second you walk in. . I ordered an espresso, a cortado, and a hand drip, and every single cup was perfect. Balanced, smooth, and full of flavor — no bitterness at all, just pure coffee joy. Their pastries and baked goods look so tempting too… I wanted to try them all! If you’re in Brighton, you’ve got to check this place out. Just a heads up: it can be a little slow because they’ve got so many loyal regulars — but trust me, it’s 100% worth the wait.”

When I return to England, even if I'm staying far from Kemptown I'm definitely popping by Hand In Hand again. Amazing!!!”

If you want a more relaxed experience, I'd suggest booking your visit for after 1:30 PM to avoid the busiest rush.”
