“Delicious mezze, great selection and lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Slightly dark in the restaurant itself but not a huge issue”
“We had a delicious vegan lunch at Wild Cherry. We shared a vegan sausage roll, roasted pepper with chickpeas and bulghur and mushroom lasagna. We also picked up a few things from the deli. We really recommend this place!”
“Lovely staff, even for a Friday evening we barely waited for our food. Fun atmosphere and amazing cocktails. We shared the platter for 2-3 with 4 and had the hot mezze starter. Perfect!”
“I found your restaurant on Google Maps and am grateful for that. As a Persian fan of Kebab, I can say that this restaurant, Joojeh, was precisely what we have in Iran. Its taste and flavour were perfect. The service and the servers were excellent. She was so welcoming and made my experience even better. I can only say that there is room for improvement in toilets. There was no tissue paper, but the soap smelled very good.”
“First time here, a small, "real" Turkish restaurant. Fresh produce, crispy bread...everything generously portioned and very tasty. I had a halloumi-tzastiki wrap, which was excellent. The service was very nice and friendly. I'd be happy to go”
“Wow! It was raining, so we were looking for a cute place to hide and saw this amazing little restaurant. This was the best choice we’ve made so far on our trip to Brighton. The food is amazing!! The people are also really nice! So happy with this experience, thank you.”
“Lovely cafe with the most peaceful vibe. Best place to take a breather from the busy streets of Brighton. Coffee was really good and the service was amazing!”
“Great find in Brighton. The food was cooked perfectly and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend the chicken shish, calamari, salad and prawns. Best meal we had all week!”
“Fab friendly place with fun atmosphere, brilliant music, great beers and delicious food! We had a selection of Spanish tapas all home cooked by the Spanish chef, yummy! Pop into this pub you won't be disappointed!”
“My friends and I booked through First Table, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The restaurant is on Boundary Road, quite a way from central Brighton, but the interior is worth the trip — beautifully decorated and full of character. We were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, who offered some great suggestions. We tried their Turkish white wine, which was spot on, then moved on to starters and mains. The highlight for me was the lamb casserole — absolutely heavenly! What really sets this place apart from other Turkish restaurants I’ve been to is the pricing. Even without the 50% First Table discount, the menu is very reasonably priced. The only downside for me is the location, as it’s quite far from where I live (Preston Park). Still, I’d happily make the journey again for their food. Dined for: 3 Meal: Starter + mains + drinks Total bill: £109”
“Beautiful decor, wonderful food and friendly staff and owner. I’ve never felt so welcomed in a restaurant before. This has been an incredible dining experience. Meat was so juicy and food were freshly made. Will bring my family and friends back here.”
“Tried this place for the first time and it did not disappoint. The food is authentic Afghani, full of flavor, and the portion sizes are generous … you’ll definitely leave full! The menu has so much variety, it was hard to choose just one dish. Service was fast, the staff were really welcoming, and best of all, no service charge! The restaurant is easy to find and 100% halal. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving something hearty and real.”
“With a large choice of vegetarian food in Brighton it can be hard to find a great place to eat. Some of the larger restaurants are marvellous but if you want quality on the go, or just seated in the pedestrian area then this place is a bit of a gem. Quick service, simple menu and fresh products. Staff who will chat and tell you about the process of making fresh falafel. Please do drop by and try it. We did and really recommend it.”
“I met up with my girlfriend on my lunch break and we decided to go to Alushi’s. This place really is a hidden gem in Brighton. The smells coming from the coal grill and kebabs are incredible and immediately draw you in. We both went for the meal deal, which is excellent value: a wrap, chips and a drink for £12. We chose the homemade chilli sauce and garlic sauce, which were both delicious. The wraps were incredibly tasty. The meat was perfectly grilled and generously portioned. I went for the lamb while my girlfriend chose the chicken. The salad inside the wrap was very fresh, with ripe tomatoes and a lovely pickle that really stood out. On top of all this, the service was fantastic. The guy behind the counter was friendly and happy to make recommendations. When we were leaving, we told him how good the food was. He winked, wished us a great day, and clearly knows just how good his food is. Highly recommend this place.”
“We had lunch today, and we never got disappointed. The food was brilliant. We had mixed grill, and it was cooked to perfection as always. I really recommend this restaurant you won't get disappointed.”
“I really love this deli/cafe and, judging by the constant fast moving queue, so do the fair residents of Brighton! I almost religiously grab a chicken wrap to go and it never fails to impress. The food is great, the service is great, and it is all remarkably consistent. I sometimes branch out and grab their really rather good pastries, and they serve those amazing Mexican colas/fruity lemonades. Really can’t recommend it enough and it’s a wonderful choice for a tasty and affordably priced lunch.”
“Aroma's uniqueness is the direct result of the beautiful family that runs this very special place. The coffee is high-quality and delicious, the baked goods are moreish, and their made-to-order foods are fresh and packed with flavours. I would highly recommend 'Fool' – a classic but hard-to-find-anywhere-else bean dip served with bread. The chicken kabseh falls off the bone and is served with perfectly seasoned aromatic rice. The homemade desserts such as the kunafee and the kabseh are enough to make the trip to George Street worthwhile. The delicious food aside, being at Aroma – one feels the kindness and tranquillity that is hard to come by in chain cafes. Customers take their time here; they read, they have meaningful conversations, they plan and congregate. It is not further from the truth at all to say that Aroma is a cultural hub, a place where people from all walks of life find their place of respite. I cannot recommend this place highly enough; come for something delicious, but stay and keep coming back for the beautiful souls that run this establishment.”
“Lovely veggie/vegan diner with amazing and very fresh food, always a pleasure to eat here and great to people watch out the front too! Very reasonably priced and maybe the best value for money vegan food in the Laines!”
“Best hummus in Brighton, possibly the best in the world! Great pittas as well. Just had an absolutely delicious salad falafel pitta pocket for lunch and bought two giant tubs of hummus to take away. Yum! Oh and they are super helpful and lovely, they'd run out of pittas to take away but Mr Smorl helped me locate somewhere else nearby to buy them. Thank you!!”
“Small but comfortable cafe. Its tucked away but id been meaning to try it for a long time. Good sized portions and bot unreasonable prices. The staff where polite and efficient. The sausages where tasty and bacon smoky! The coffee was good too. If I was to have one criticism I would say the tomato catchup watery and the bottle obviously been reused many times. Still it didn't detract so much from my meal which was lovely.”
“This is our fifth time here and absolutely loving it! Amazing well marinated perfectly barbecued meats Generous portions- the meal for 3- well a family of four couldn’t finish it! We got so much to go Staff are friendly and check on us Toilet was clean too Photo is of our to-go box!!”

“Visited late night and they still served us, the server (young lad) was so friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and the chef was lovely. Very clean place. Huge portions for a very good price! We will be back to hove for this food”
“Beautiful food, beautiful service, beautiful all round. I ordered the platter for 2 and all I can say is heaven. If you don’t eat here you’re missing out!”
“One of the most exceptional restaurants in Brighton. The quality of the cuisine is always my top priority when I dine at a restaurant, and this one is truly exceptional. Every dish, from Falafel to Mixed Kabob to Tagine Lamb, was bursting with flavor. During our conversation with Mr. Sabri, we discovered that the spices are meticulously selected and prepared at home. The quality of the ingredients is essential in any culinary endeavor. The aroma is genuinely detectable. And most importantly, the chef has acquired the ability to cook and is meticulous about the quality of his food. He does not just combine spices and serve a cuisine. He loves what he does and it reflects in his dishes. Mr. Sabri's hospitality is what truly distinguishes him, as it is exceedingly warm. It never felt as though we were dining in a restaurant; rather, it was as though we were dining at home.”
“The guys here are so friendly and the food couldn’t be tastier. Can’t go wrong with vegetarian mezze/starters but the wraps are the star of the show for me!”
“Absolutely delicious food. Had the beetroot salad, miso aubergine, cauliflower wings and vegan pavlova, they were all so good! So much taste packed into each dish. Really lovely waiting staff and we even got a happy anniversary chocolate treat. Food came promptly and they were great with my allergies. Wish I lived in Brighton so I could go all the time!”
