I use the shop mainly for sending parcels, and I have to say I find the female owner extremely rude. The final straw was tonight when she pointed to the floor to put the parcels on, without saying a word to me. Yet I am a regular customer. Please avoid this shop like the plague.
Repeatedly an extremely rude and unfriendly woman over the years I'd been going. I only continued to go there because it was the nearest shop and a last resort. Even though I shopped here regularly I was told I couldn't return an Evri package because it was too big - 30cm x 30cm x 60cm. There was more than ample space to store place it which I had demonstrated but she flat out refused, resulting in me missing my return window and having to carry the heavy item back home.
The staff is rude and unprofessional. They don't list their limitations or time constraints for parcel drop offs on the shop or anywhere else. They refused my Evri parcel because they decided to not collect anything above10kg whereas Evrii clearly allows you to send parcels above 15kg and shows this parcel shop as a drop off point. She decided without any proof that the parcel was too heavy because I was carrying it with a friend and not by myself. As a working woman, I prefer to do my drop offs in the evening (atleast an hour before their closing time, if not more) which they somehow have an issue with. The staff blatantly refused my parcel and refused to provide any assistance further when I tried to offer solutions and adjustments from my end. The customer service is simply awful.
Very poor experience from the staff I used the Hermes machine in which I paid £5 by card to send a parcel, the machine chewed the label and I had to go through the process again paying another £5. The staff/ owners didn't think that they had any responsibility, they never even apologised to me for causing me a problem. Another time I waited outside the shop waiting for it to open as the owner informed us by note on the door that she was on a school run and would be 10mins, I waited 20 mins for them to.open, now I understand the pressure's of life but when she turned up there was not even an apology. The owners should go on a customer communication course
The lady behind the counter is the most miserable inflexible jobsworth manager you could ever wish to meet. Do NOT collect tour Evri parcels here! She is rude and unable to use her own mind and discretion to make simple decisions such as handing over the parcel without 5he absolutely precise ID required, even though it is so obviously you! She never smiles as well. Avoid.
The card minimum changes depending on who Is working. Someone who works there recently told me they removed the card minimum charge because their new card machine requires very little fees so they removed it and I was able to make small purchases on a few occasions. But one morning I had the owner who insisted the card minimum is £3.00 so I couldn't buy my pint of milk and had to put it back. Another time, before their new card machine was installed their minimum charge was £5.00 and my shopping came to £4.60. I asked the cashier to make the payment a fiver but he couldn't. He told me it wasn't possible as the owner wouldn't allow it, so I needed to by something else which I didn't need just to take the rest of my shopping home. This has all been very frustrating to say the least.
Despite poor reviews I had to use Marvans for an Evri drop off. Owner/staff really helpful, happy and positive! And the international parcel got there in record time at half the price of the competition!
The absolute worst service, I think that lady got pleasure out of making my day bad... Rude staff, terrible service, terrible selection, £5 minimum on card!? Do yourself a favour and walk a few minutes down the road to Clyde Road News only £2 card minimum and no sadistic attitude
Amazing resource for Hermes drop off and groceries in a useful row of shops. Park adj for loading. Have your QR code ready in photo as 3G reception by tall buildings. Hold under machine. Staff here manage 20 parcels a day, and remain patient and tolerant. Thank you Marvans
I was in two minds about posting my Hermes parcel here after some of the reviews I read but my experience was fine. Sure, it wasn't "service with a smile" and it's true the parcels are heaped up in a corner of the shop but I was in and out quickly and my parcel arrived safely. Can't complain really, it was efficient and did what I needed.
