Got accosted by the security guard to ask us whether we had paid for the apples (which were from Tesco...) we had. ASCONE exists for a reason. The only mistake we made was that we didn't just ignore him and carry on walking
Very rude security guard. Stalks you around the shop for no reason. There’s nothing worse than being treated like a thief for no reason when you’re just looking in a shop!
Absolutely baffling. For a store located *inside* a major train station like Brighton, you'd expect M&S to understand the needs of commuters who start their journeys as early as 5 AM. Lazy businesses in Brighton do not appear to open before 8 or even 9am, for a coffee or breakfast on my way to work, only to find the shutters firmly down. What's the point of being at a station if you can't serve the early morning rush? This isn't just an inconvenience; it's a fundamental misunderstanding of your customer base.
The security staff in here always feel completely overbearing. No doubt they have a lot of shoplifting here but I feel under suspicion from the moment I enter the store. But at the same time, it's actually the customer who is getting robbed when they charge £4.50 for the same salad as can be bought in Tesco for £1.35 (no difference in quality).
I just bought some rotten beef as part of a stir fry. The label obscured the colour...and when I opened it the smell was appalling! The customer service team online were great, but I didn't get a refund...just a gift certificate (as I didn't have the receipt). This is the second batch of rotten meat I have had from this store in a month. Best avoided. They clearly have an issue with quality control and refrigeration. I will certainly not be shopping here again. If you do buy meat here, make sure you get a receipt.
Very expensive and an almost non-existent selection of vegetarian meal options. It’s basically a heavily overpriced booze and meat stall for commuters.
Always my first choice for fresh food. Great selection of food, drinks, chocolate & wine. Nice spot if u wanna buy something for long journey.. Good value & quality of food from M&S. really convenient location.
Great selection of food, especially if you want to buy something for a long train journey home - you do have to go outside of the ticket barriers - you should be able to do this if your ticket is valid. Good value and quality of food from M&S as it should be - handy for the station too
Utter disappointment. No idea what is happening there but popped in around 5pm on a Saturday and about 75% off the shelves and fridges are alcohol. Great if you want to get drunk on the beach. If you're trying to pick up lunch or dinner on the way home forget it. Next to no choice. Have shopped here for years, you've lost a customer now M&S Food
