Excellent Jazz venue, great range of artists playing, so check the website and timetable. The first time I had been to a jazz club and I loved it. Smaller, friendly venue. Will definitely be going back there. Recommend booking tickets in advance.

Fantastic little jazz club run by the amazing drummer Tristan Banks. Simple but good food and wine. Lovely friendly staff.

2nd time visit of this fabulous unassuming jazz venue. Absolutely loving it and will come back again soon. Quality jazz performances at an intimate venue. Mingle with guests and musicians during breaks makes it even better. Highly recommended and will be bringing friends along to next performances. This quality jazz venue deserves all the support it can get.

Loved it all I can, the food is superb. The ambiance is brilliant. We all had such a great time listening jazz and dine with my friend and family. Cant wait to visit again.

An awesome venue, with an attentive team. They serve freshly prepared food at a good price, great value drinks and always put on a great show. The music venue is cosy, with table and chairs at the front, and rows of chairs at the back. It's an intimate experience! The sound quality is excellent and the owner/manager knows his music! Thoroughly recommended.

Five of us went to the Amsterdam Inn for dinner on a weeknight. Not the Amsterdam's fault but it took us half an hour to get there from Lancing because of the queue at the temporary traffic lights that are in front of the establishment. Staff were friendly and polite but service was slow even though the pub was half empty. Prices are reasonable but the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. The lobster and seafood cocktail was OK, but not much lobster. The prawn and calamari duo was good. The grilled chicken and chorizo skewers were good. The smoked British chicken & red onion marmalade terrine was not worth the 5.49. The fish pie was not the best, and the mash tasted like it was made from powdered potato. In fact all the mashed potatoes tasted like that. They did not have any rib-eye steak so ordered the rump, which was flavourful but tough. The lamb shank was OK. The pork belly was nice but the bubble and squeak that came with it was inedible. The cheese and bacon burger was good. All in all the food is not as spectacular as it could be. Not sure if we will be back.

Being a jazz pianist myself, I can safely say this is the only dedicated venue hosting live music 3 nights a week, Thursday Friday and Saturday. Thursday is the weekly jazz jam session where random players get a chance to perform on a proper stage complete with grand piano. Friday/Saturday bring some of the best groups the UK and beyond has to offer. Booking recommend to secure a seat in the cost jazz cellar.

Brighton is lucky to have the Verdict. It is a gem. Ticket prices reasonable, a lovely bar, friendly staff and a delightfully intimate basement space. I watched the Andrew McCormack Trio and it was a wonderful thing. Really hope the venue continues to thrive and prosper.

What an absolutely gem of a venue. Relaxed and friendly but with top notch owners and music. No wonder this venue is one of the top 10 jazz clubs in Europe. I say jazz but there are plenty of other genres of music on show here.
