   Avoid at all costs. The delivery was a mess: 8 dining chairs ordered. A mysterious dpd delivery that we didn’t know was coming and didn’t knock (we were in) that was taken for collection to a local shop (4 massive boxes!) After a call to them these 4 massive boxes were spirited back to the warehouse and delivery was re arranged some time later via B&S van. They came early with no warning - lucky we were in. Rapidly realised the chairs were the wrong size so a return was requested same day, in fact within twenty minutes of the van leaving but apparently it was impossible for them to return. Beware huge and quite hidden costs of return (certainly not mentioned in my call when ordering when we talked over the pros and cons of ordered 8 rather than 1 to see if they were right. That’s a difference of £12 to £150 for returns, but only the £4 difference is delivery costs was stated.) Three days later dpd collection was ordered, again no time slot and just turned up - luckily I was in. But his van was too full/small to take 4 massive boxes. Went through process again. Two days later dpd collection turned up but his van was too full/small to take 4 massive boxes. These are, to my mind, very basic errors for a furniture delivery company to be having, i mean they delivery furniture not small items! I now still have 4 massive boxes in my unusable dining room and Christmas coming up. Thanks Barker and Stonehouse for this, the stress, time wasted chasing up, time spent waiting in. I will certainly not be shopping with you again and advise against anyone else doing so unless you can fit it in your own car.

   Absolutely excellent customer service - This store is, somewhat conveniently, located next door to the Brighton and Hove recycling centre. Arriving yesterday with a client, we'd assumed (incorrectly) that I'd be able to unload old furniture at the tip, giving plenty of time to select new items at the store. The van I had hired was too large to be allowed at the tip and the staff of the shop kindly let us park in their car park to carry everything round by hand AND lent us a trolley to make this easier. They were incredibly helpful during a stressful experience - even though we then ran out of time to shop from them! Having had this excellent experience from all the staff members present (I'm so sorry that I didn't note down your names!) I will certainly be making sure that we return to purchase replacement items here. Many thanks for going out of your way to help.

   Please do not make the mistake that a price tag means quality. We purchased a dinning table & chairs in 2019. They looked stunning for a few years. & then as if a switch was turned on, the covers on the chairs just disintegrated. I contacted Barker & Stonehouse who were very quick to point out that warranty is for two years. So we are now faced with the heavy price to recover or buy new chairs. Just remember, you are not buying quality. Looks are most definitely deceiving.

   DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. We purchased a custom-made bedroom set from Barker and Stonehouse in Hove, spending over £5,000. We were initially told it would take eight weeks to be made in Germany and shipped to the UK, but it ended up taking three months. When it finally arrived, the condition was shocking—chipped, scratched, broken, and poorly packaged. When we complained, the response was dismissive, with staff insisting that such damage wasn’t possible. Requesting a refund was an even worse experience. Their customer service was unhelpful and frustrating, and we were told we’d have to wait three weeks for them to collect the damaged furniture—essentially trash—and then another week to receive our refund. For the price we paid, we expected much better quality and service. This was a terrible experience from start to finish, and I would strongly advise against buying from them.

   Do not shop from here. We have bought 8 of these chairs and 3 of them have broken within a few months of purchase. Poorly designed desk and office chair! Poor quality and made to a low standard. We have contacted Baker and Stonehouse and they have done nothing and have said that there is nothing they can do because these chairs have been used in an office. It is really bad for a desk / office chair to not be able to be used in an office. Please do not purchase from here, worst customer service and no one told us that we could not use these office chairs in an office when we purchased 8. Awful service and Poor quality products.    Came in close to closing time on Friday as we needed to order a table and chairs. The second we came through the door David greeted us and offered to help straight away. Can’t praise the service we received enough. We are in the middle of a pretty big move so have visited lots of furniture stores over the last month but David really stood out. The service alone would encourage me to come back in store rather than shop online- we really appreciated his knowledge around all aspects from the furniture care to delivery. Thank you!

   I really liked this store. Walking in, it felt very plush and reminded me of the American shops I like. The furniture sold here is gorgeous! Lovely wardrobes, great sofas, good dining furniture. Not the least expensive, but not the most either and it looks like amazing quality. Staff were friendly. We had coffee upstairs. We enjoyed it and the seats were so comfortable. Recommended.
