Terrible experience – do not stay here! This place was a complete disaster. There was no reception at all, everything was broken, dirty, and unhygienic. The room had no proper ventilation and was extremely unclean. We entered, took one look, and immediately left, even though we had booked for one night. Absolutely unacceptable and nothing like what was advertised. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

You can't fault the location (other than the fact it's next to a club which can be heard a bit at night). The rooms were filthy, with mouldy shower curtains and toilet seats, hairs in the shower and dirt on the floors and carpet. The doors didn't lock to either our ensuite or the public bathroom. We were also without hot water for the night.

It's difficult where to start on this hotel. I'll start with the positives. If you are going out in Brighton and drinking your weight in alcohol. And you don't care where you sleep. Then this hotel is perfect for you. Now the negatives. The receptionist seemed pretty confused about me booking a room. The rooms are horrifically dirty. I couldn't quite believe how bad it was. The mould in the bathroom is dangerous. The bathroom ceiling is about a week away from falling down. The bed looks like it's never been cleaned. I had to sleep fully clothed. The windows are paper thin. The street noise is so loud. (This isn't really the hotels fault.) But you will not be able to sleep until 3am ish. I was woken up by water dripping into my room from the ceiling too. All in all I have stayed in many hotels before. And this is by far the worst.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I'm happy for the one star to be for the room warmth. That's the only good thing. The room was so small and uneven. The floor was so hard to walk on because there's loads of lumps and bumps. There was 0 TV in the room. The windows were covered in black mold and they were so thin that you could hear everyone in the pub opposite the hotel. The door frame to get into the bathroom was so thin that I wish I was skinny. And the door that they put with the bathroom, was too big for it, so it didn't shut all the way. So it just smacks against the sink. The toilet roll holder was broken, so the toilet roll was just on the floor. The shower didn't work, you couldn't pull it up, it just broke off. So we had to wash our hair from the tap in the bathroom. The safety on the doors was so poor that anyone could probably break in. The radiator in the bathroom was tiled into the wall, which seemed kind of dangerous considering the heat wasn't going anywhere but into the brick. My boyfriend couldn't get in one night even though he was pressing the button repeatedly. I had to go downstairs and let him in and notice that a member of staff was just sitting on the couch on their phone. When I told her that my boyfriend was outside and he needed to let them in, she just went "oh" instead of saying sorry. The weirdest part was that our door was unlocked and ajar one night when we got back and the kettle plugged in. So it seemed like one of the staff members had come into our room, plugged the kettle in an not locked the door behind them, which is dangerous because all of our stuff was in the room. Speaking of kettles, they don't give you any mugs, any coffee, any tea, any sugar, any milk. Just the kettle. Which is very strange. One good point. They had a lift. Which is so small and I was scared it would break. Do NOT!!! Stay here

If hygiene and safety are important to you - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. The main safety concern is the loose nails sticking out of broken skirting, most of the furniture was damaged with multiple sharp edges. Rain leaked from the window and was dripping onto electrical sockets. Hygiene wise, the bedding was visible dirty, the bathroom door did not close properly, there was stains all up the walls and on the carpet. My partner and I slept fully clothed on top of the bedding because we couldn’t stand sleeping in something that dirty. The member of staff working when we tried to check in was so uniformed he didn’t even know where the extra pillows were kept. We paid extra for a “room with a view” yet the walls of the building meant we could see nothing but shoddy paint work. The state of this room nearly caused us to cut our trip early. When telling the manager our concerns she said nothing but “oh I didn’t know”, no apologises were given, nothing was offered to amend the situation. I’ve never been so disappointed and to be honest, completely grossed out at the state of a hotel room. I’m not a person to leave negative reviews but I needed others to know what they’re paying for. THE PICTURES ARE NOT ACCURATE, the rooms looked nothing like the pictures and even the staff admitted how misleading the pictures are. The only positive is it’s 2 minute walk to the beach.
