Was a beautiful room, good communication with hosts and had a lovely time. Even had my tea brand (Yorkshire tea).

I stayed in the double room with the private en suite, and it was lovely! The bed was super comfy (if you like a firm bed) and the pillows were lovely and soft. The room was also so fresh and clean. The window faces the garden, so nice and quiet as not facing the main road, and for the price of the room you get some much space. Amenities in the room were fab. Can't have asked for more really. Would absolutely recommend Clifton Guest House to anyone looking for a few nights stay in Portslade!

Clifton House is a place that is a little bit separated from the town center, but there's plenty of transportation to reach it from there. I rented a single bedroom, which faced the street. The room was super comfortable, and the shared bathroom felt like it was my own. Everything in the place looks clean. The room was small, but it provided everything I needed. It has a private sink, a mini fridge, a TV, and a wardrobe. I even have things for ironing. In the area, there are some supermarkets to provision yourself with things. The location is really nice, but the best thing is the owner. I told him I needed to stay some time after the checkout because I had an interview (and pubs and coffee shops are not the best place to be doing those), and he let me stay for it. Thank you so much, Affan! Public transportation to the area can stop around 01:00, so it's good to have that in mind. Beyond that, taxis from the center to the house are not that expensive. If you're attending a convention and can't spend a lot, this place is the right one to choose.

Clean and quite modern rooms with TV, WiFi, fridge but no private bathroom! Some rooms are headed towards the real busy road... Others are backyard headed. Good for one overnight stay – not necessarily recommended for long terms.

Me and a a friend booked a room here quite last minute on a Saturday during a festival and could not believe how lucky we were to find it! The owner, affan, was extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcome, he went above and beyond for us and you can tell he takes pride in these rooms and his guests. The room was spotless and cozy - perfect after a long day of work. The bathroom is also amazing. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Having hardly stayed away, I initially looked around at the obvious hotel names, such as Hilton and Ibis. However, my partner convinced me to have a look around at something which was cost effective, as ideally we just needed a place to settle and sleep for the night(s). We stumbled upon Clifton House, and I was extremely glad we did! Initially I was surprised by what I saw on Google Maps, as the exterior of the hotel just looks a little like an ordinary place. However, once you enter the house it is totally different. There are 3 floors in this house overall, with the double room (with en suite bathroom) on the top floor. The room itself was extremely spacious, and was all that you could ask for: great side double bed, open wardrobe with shelves and hangers, a desk with a lamp, complimentary tea and coffee ingredients, coffee table and chairs, a TV with freeview, and bedside tables with lamps. There were also plenty of plug sockets, so you always have somewhere to charge your phone or other mobile devices. The bathroom was through a door and really took my by surprise. The whole room was very spacious and was effectively a walk-in shower, with the toilet and sink at the far end of the room. There was also complimentary shampoo/shower gel, so everything you need is provided! The hotel staff are very friendly and thankfully allowed us to check in later than the regular times, as our train arrived late. Overall, I was extremely happy with our stay. Brilliant stuff!
