Been here a few times now and the food is always good, as are the coffees and prices are very good to. This is more open, basic like a traditional cafe, and bright unlike a few other cafes in the area, but that's just my personal preference. Definitely worth a visit.
Absolutely recommend River Cafe if you want a great breakfast and outstanding service. Staff are always friendly and accommodating for kids and the food is spot on.
Just had the nicest breakfast here! I did the pick your own with 8 items, so could create my favourite fry up. Really quick service and super hot. Could not fault it, yum!!

Food was good but massively overpriced for what it was. I was impressed with the cafe itself, nice and clean, although the bathroom had no facilities for my to change my daughter's nappy, which might be expected from a small cafe but the cubicle was so small there was nowhere to do it privately so I had to do it on the floor with the door open into the communal men's/women's sink which wasn't ideal. The food arrived and was freshly cooked and was tasty, if not a bit dry and sad looking. (We had panini's and they came on a large plate on their own with no dressing or salad or chips so looked a bit lost). I wouldn't pick it again but i appreciated it was fresh and everything was hot, including the bowl of chips. I assumed these came with the panini's but it wasn't until we left that my partner told me he paid almost £4 for the small bowl of chips on the side! The panini's literally came with absolutely nothing else for almost £6! If I'd of realised this I would never have ordered it and would likely have not eaten there. Sadly we won't be back because of this. Everything else was great but the price really was shocking. Other things on the menu did look more in line price wise but then I cannot comment on what that meal would look like.
My friends try to meet up at this cafe.so been there with their choice. Btw clean n tidy. Quite nice location though just very next to riverside. Service was specially good. Food was ok but they can improve it by little effort. Coffee was good.
Convinced my friends to come here instead of getting McDonald’s and have to say it was great from start to finish. Nice and polite staff too coupled with a friendly atmosphere. Food was great aswell, even changed some items on the breakfast that we didn’t like with things we did. All in all really pleasant experience

I always have a breakfast on a Saturday. It is freshly cooked and very tasty and well presented. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Riverside Cafeteria to anyone. Also their plaice and chips are delicious. Elizabeth Moore
