   My experience going to this store was disgusting! The managers are bullies. I witnessed one manager slagging off the staff whilst they were working. Where's the team work? They seem to think they DO NOT need to follow rules. No empathy, no sympathy and no patience. Thats just with managers. This store needs a staff meeting. They urgently need to sort this, I want to say team out. This is no team. Area mangers are also rude. I witnessed an area manager refusing to stay and help when a member off staff was begging him to help. He turned his back and walked out. Where do you get these people from? They need safe guarding put in place. I'm not sure a staff meeting would work when area managers have the bad attitude they do. Something needs to be done. URGENTLY.

   Visited 12 Oct 2025. To say the place was grubby is an understatement. There was food and crumbs all over tables and on the floor! Trays with empty cups and rubbish were left on tables and I felt I had to wipe my feet once I left! Out of 2 toilets, only one is usable. The Accessible toilet it out of action as the lock appears to have been cut out. This was out of action on 05 October 2025 too and not sure how long before that visit it was out of action for! IMO Food and drink were mediocre at best. Cake was dry (it was like it had been left out too long to dry out) and the toastie was flavourless! Coffee was OK! No atmosphere what-so-ever! Service with a smile? No chance! Asked if the hot chocolate was with cream and marshmallows and only got the cream. When we asked for marshmallows, it was as though you were asking for the world! IMO, the best thing about this was... leaving!

   I am a regular customer of Costa stores throughout the U.K. and also a user of the app. I recently went to the store at the retail park in Kempston to use the toilet, I was not in a position to purchase something on this occasion. The toilets now have key codes pads on them “toilet for customers only, code on bottoms of receipt” really disappointing. I’ve now decided to boycott all stores if this is the stance your company have decided to take. When one suffers from prostrate issues or IBS this is a really frustrating sign to see. How about encouraging people to use the toilets rather than trying to ransom them into making a purchase you might actually gain custom rather than lose it. I hope your profits dip and you see the error of your ways.

   I never give negative reviews but there was nothing positive to say about our experience. Visited here Sunday 27/07 with my sister for lunch wish I’d walked straight out again. Young lady who served us is in serious need of some customer service training, no smile no eye contact at all. Wasn’t asked what size coffee we wanted or told how much our order was just the sound of the card machine alerted us to pay. We both ordered Cappuccino’s which were 3/4 froth 1/4 coffee. All in all very disappointed & won’t be visiting this particular Costa again.

   Much better than the Costa at Kingston Milton Keynes but a bit of a wait to get my drinks! Loafs of people serving but only 1 person actually making the drinks? Would have been 5 stars if not for that.

   Re-furbished café much more attractive and with a good number of people sitting at tables it had a very nice vibe. Very short time in the queue. Coffee good and pain au raisin almost fresh.

   Met a friend for coffee during lunch hour. Queue out the door on arrival. Then when inside not much selection in terms of sandwiches. Stock was replenished much later. We thought we would try Christmas menu. Waiting 10mins for drinks to be prepared. Ordered two Toblerone lattes. Really horrid taste that we couldn't bear to finish. Out of politeness I went up and ordered our usual drinks instead. Again I stood waiting 14mins just for my drinks to be prepared. By this time I've almost lost 35mins of time with my friend. It just made it such an uncomfortable experience. It would have been much quicker to go through the drive through. Standards at this particular Costa has really slipped. Not sure we will continue to meet at Costa in future which is sad as its always been my got to place.
