Had an excellent Sunday lunch for 4, delicious lamb and beef, tasty desserts, good portion size, great quality and prompt service. The Yew tree lager was nice and Long Man best on tap also. Definitely recommend, we had 1230 table and didn't fill up until 1/130. Table in conservatory with view of garden was nice and nice atmosphere
This pub has a friendly relaxed atmosphere with lovely, cheerful service and very well priced food. The menu is quite extensive and the food beautifully cooked. A lovely place to eat in a very peaceful village.
A fantastic dog friendly Brit stop. Play ground for the children, excellent beer garden, delicious Sussex Smokey would recommend. Wheelchair accessible.
We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious cranberry & nut roast. Everyone was so friendly and the decor is fab! Great music too! We loved the ambience. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options too.
Update... I have emailed this directly to the pub.... NO RESPONSE! clearly they dont care. Disappointed. First the pub was clean warm staff friendly. However the food was not good. We ordered fish n chips (no mushy peas available) , burger with bacon and cheese. The cheese had clearly been over microwaved, not grilled! This made the cheese and bacon it sat on inedible, rock hard with a strange taste. It was pointed out to the staff, nothing happened tho. Gone were the fresh chunky chips, replaced with thin frozen tasteless fries. To top it off sauces were cheap vinegary bottled sauces. It's not difficult to make good tartar sauce guys.... clearly the chef???? can't be bothered.
Decent enough country pub with nice food. My Sussex Smokie was a bit small and my brother's burger was average. Very good roasts though and nice starters with generous portion sizes. The kitchen shuts early though and we were hurried into making our choices by our server, but our food arrived quickly which was very good. The whole place is a bit tired and the landlord could do with smiling occasionally. OK but not memorable.
Lovely pub with great service, great food and nice gardens. Goats are fun too.
