excellent birthday meal for my son and his girlfriend. They both have ADHD and can be live wires, however, we were welcomed and never felt anything but welcomed and looked after. Great service great food and great place. fantastic time had by all.

We ordered 2 meals at the Smoke House, and to be fair the rack of ribs i had was good. Not fall off the bone good, it took some work but still tasted nice and there was alot of them. The other was a really bad chicken burger which was stringy and a tiny portion size to boot. The place itself was nice and the service was acceptable. Edit in response to owner question: We mentioned the quality of the burger to the waitress (as a reasonable amount went un-eaten) who said she'd inform the chef. In hindsigt, 2 is a bit harsh on the food so upping to 3 as the ribs I had were really good and removing reference to other burgers as I did not have them.

What a place!! Brilliant food, service and atmosphere. Really lovely staff and lively food. Obviously the meat, but the onion rings and fries were so well seasoned as well. Can't wait to come back again.

The food was hands down the worst food I've experienced dining out, especially from a restaurant that sells itself at the standard this place does. My chips were, with no exaggerating, frozen, and topped with cold nacho sauce that resembled something from dish washer soap in flavour. Extremely unpleasant. My other half asked for a medium steak and it was so well done it was like watching him cut through leather, and with a butter knife (no steak knife given). Was quite hilarious if I'm honest. There were no mushrooms with the steak, no tomatoes or anything else that usually compliments a steak meal. What is in the pictures was on the plate, with the exception of the coleslaw that my other half scrapped onto my plate and I proceeded to barely touch (I hardly touched my own food). Despite asking for the coleslaw to be put in a seperate dish, and the waitress agreeing, this was not done. Please see pictures of what cost Β£30 for a steak meal. As for the garlic bread I'll let the photo speak for itself. The acoustics in this venue were terrible. The whole experience was so bad it ended up being hilarious and we walked away laughing in shock, instead of being bitter about it. We got our money back for the chips and the waiting staff were very kind and polite. My other half ate his meal despite laughing the whole way through in shock but was too hungry and to politely British to complain. The pile of dried sick outside in the car park suggested someone else has a similar experience to us, as my other half eventually threw up when he got home (yes he really did). It's really important that all reviews are given, good or bad. This is honestly a place I'll never forget for all the wrong reasons. I'm still laughing about how bad it was today, so bad its become a joke between us. I appreciate a review like this hits hard but it was seriously bad, and it needs to be shared. Nice waitresses who definitely hold the place together. I'm sure the chefs are nice people, maybe over stretched, and need more help. Who knows, but there's definitely room for major improvement.

The American diner feel came through quite well. Came for lunch today, had the pork belly burnt ends and brisket platter. I'd say that both were delicious, would've liked if they had own house BBQ sauce instead of a packet one. Would've been that bit more amazing. The mini-mac and cheese was to die for. Decently priced for the portion size.

Was not impressed looks more like a 1960s truck stop. Mixed grill chicken was raw, cauliflower and brie soup was more brie than cauliflower it was so thick I could have laid bricks with it. We asked for 2 cappuccinos it came out lumpy, milk was off. No atmosphere in this place whatsoever unless you are local watching rugby or playing pool

A friendly local pub that serves hearty food and a warm welcome. I think it has recently been taken over and the pub and restaurant have been given separate areas in a refurb The bar area has what sounded like local tradesmen having a friendly pint after doing a morningβs work. The restaurant is more pukka, with families and couples enjoying their lunch. I am mid bike ride from Cambridge to Norwich and arrived cold and hungry. Iβm glad I found this place, I am now parked by the fire and am no longer wondering whether I have toes. The landlady saw me shivering and loaded it up with a big pile of wood. I had a steak pie with mash. It was much much better than I was expecting, the suet pastry was near perfect, well flavoured meat and perfectly cooked veg. Even the mash was tip top! The outside area looks like itβll be good in summer but honestly I was seeking the fire as soon as I saw the smoke!

Such a great pub. Recommended by friends and did not disappoint! Fantastic young staff, friendly locals, good beer selection and top notch food cannot fault it. The pub has character and a cool atmosphere. 10/10.

We had booked for a Saturday evening last month as part of 100th Birthday Celebrations for our Mum. Family all enjoyed the great range of authentic American food. Portions are huge, you do need to come hungry. Place has real character, lots of film and pop memorabilia. Service is friendly. Food cooked to order but worth any wait. You know this is not part of corporate chain, prices even in these times are great value. If you enjoy hearty, American themed food cooked by chef who has real passion and pride in what they do, you will not be disappointed. Thank you again to all who made our meal so special.

Visit was at the start of June 2021. We arrived here on the basis of other reviews. It was still showing more of a pub menu. On arrival, the pub has an American theme and a nice member of staff checked with the Chef to see if they could fit us in, due to another booking in an hour after our arrival. We were given the go ahead, drinks ordered and seat taken. Nice amount of choice. Order taken, and our food did not arrive for over an hour. There was only one other table in of 6. There were 4 of us. The food was not pleasant. The burger was as if it was cooked then deep fried. The burrito was so salty I was unable to eat it. During our meal my husband left to use the toilet, he returned without using the loo due to state it was in and was clearly blocked. We got the bill and left most of our food. Good points - nice girl serving our table. The fried chicken wings, I was told were very tasty. Personally, I wouldn't return for food.
