Went with my elderly dog today. Was given an honest opinion about her diagnosis. I was really reassured that what was best for her was paramount in any treatment.

We recently moved our animals here. So happy we did. Our concerns were listened to and taken on board. The appointments don't feel rushed. And the staff were all friendly. It was priced well too for the medications needed..

I've had my pet rats registered for a few years now after changing from another vet who I wasn't happy with. Each vet I have seen has been competent with my rats and willing to listen to my suggestions as an owner of 30 years as I appreciate they are not the usual animal to see, an open minded vet makes the whole world of difference and gives me confidence. They do have exotic vets for more difficult cases.

Nice enough staff, very patient and kind, but the facilities available let the practice down. They really are really poor. This is a management issue, no fault of the staff, but clearly the owners do not care to fund the surgery properly so that they have the equipment necessary to function as a proper vets. The reviews about operations and such are inaccurate - they don't do those at Caister and they don't do diagnostics or assessments here. They do those at Rollesby, so don't be misled like I was. They can only handle the absolute basics - vaccinations, nail clips, nurse health checks. That's it. Really. And even then, good luck getting an appointment. They can't do blood tests (the courier gets lost on their way to the labs, then they'll make you pay for a retest), can't do cell samples, no eye or ear testing equipment (even the handheld, easily transportable equipment that could easily be loaned from Rollesby if they truly are so strapped for cash despite all those price hikes...), can't deal with acute health conditions or minor injuries, there really are no facilities whatsoever. The vets and nurses are forced to practice without the facilities they need to deal with day-to-day needs, and so you're always sent off to Rollesby for 95% of things you might need. This means that if you can't drive, you can expect to pay £100-110 just for a basic vet appointment if you're travelling from Caister (consultation is £60, travel is £40-50 depending on the time) which is then double the price of their competitors. I don't mean to be rude, I'm truly being honest, I've never been registered with a vets that hasn't been able to do any of these things. Across the country, every get I've visited has had as a minimum the basic facilities requires to carry out non-specialist veterinary care. These are basic expectations of a proper, fully functioning veterinary surgery. I understand that some types of care require specialist facilities and specialist vets through referrals, but come on, outright refusing to see patients to even check acute health conditions/run basic diagnostics/prescribe easily obtained medications like charcoal paste/etc, things you'd expect from any vet, and barely any appointments being available is not acceptable. The owners of the vet group need to recognise that they are not running the Caister practice well - they need to properly invest in the practice (i.e. spend some of the ridiculous profits they're making on the prices they've been jacking up, and the outrageous fees they charge for everything, on the business itself rather than cars and holidays) so that it can really function as one. A few pieces of smaller equipment, better stocked basic medications, more appointments, and more staff, would make a huge difference. A Caister practice is a necessity - it's not fair to the residents of Caister to force them to pay twice as much as everyone else and travel twice as far, or get half the service. There's no alternative here, the owners know that, and they're taking advantage of us. I'm seriously considering cancelling health club after subscribing for years with various practices countrywide because at Caister, being able to *maybe* book a free nail clip once every few months (because there isn't appointments available often enough) isn't really worth the health club expense when there's a groomers round the corner. To reiterate - the staff are great. Really friendly, helpful, the vets and nurses themselves are skilled and are good at what they do. The practice is just really being let down by rubbish management, like most businesses, badly run, badly funded, putting all their money into the bigger practice and putting short term profits above business longevity which will hurt them in the long run and is definitely having a negative impact now on patients and owners.

I just want to say a huge thank you for looking after Dina throughout her neutering op this week. From start to finish we were given valuable information on what would happen. Today the vet called to ask how Dina was doing which we thought was a lovely touch. It makes us feel so confident in their expertise. A special thank you to Isobel B who carried out the op and the amazing Eleanor veterinary nurse who looked after her from start to finish. Im sure there were others behind the scenes so thank you to them. An outstanding practice who we gave total faith in.

I joined Caister vets as they are opening a new branch very close to my home so it's more convenient for me. I was travelling a 40 mile round trip to go to my previous vets so I was looking forward to a shorter journey and being able to walk there in better weather. As soon as they started accepting new clients again, I joined and had our first visit today at The Caister branch. What can I say, it was an absolute pleasure to visit, all of the staff were lovely, there was a lovely atmosphere and everyone was so friendly. A real bonus was to be seen by our vet from our previous practice who has now moved to Caister vets too. Your staff are a credit to you. Well done Caister vets.

Absolutely love this vets, had negative experiences with both Haven & Vet Hospital, luckily this had recently opened & transfered here, can't fault them, they will do the utmost for your furry family member, explain fully & not in vet speak, & really can't fault them when you have to say goodbyes either, they contact Rainbow Bridge if you choose cremation & you get to say goodbye, able to have fur or other keepsakes from your furry & have a memory tree in reception if you want to hang a pic of your furry there. All in all a brilliant thoughtful friendly place to take your furry x
