I didnβt stay in the rooms so I canβt rate that. I absolutely love this place, itβs supper stylish, very modern the drinks and reasonably priced and the service from the staff is great. BUTβ¦ I strongly urge the owner to look at the kitchen and food being served, the food is very poor quality. The food and the cooking lets this place down, if it was nice food i would eat here everyday. Itβs very sad, please please please invest more in your produce and chef because if you crack that the place will be faultless but unfortunately the food is very poor.

Been here a lot over the years, it's a nice place, Today sadly I had a chicken burger and it tasted a bit strange and half way through eating I noticed the chicken was raw in the middle. I know sometimes corn fed chicken etc can look a little pink in the middle, however this was properly raw. Not the best feeling to find out half way through your meal.

What an amazing hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, check in was quick and the food and drink selection is amazing and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend the banoffee pie for pudding. The pub atmosphere in the evening was very friendly, welcoming and felt very homely. The onsite carpark was close to check in and access to the rooms so we didnβt have to carry our bags very far. All amenities are very accessible from the rooms. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be coming again.

Lovely overnight stay at JD Young Hotel, everything was so very nice. Warm welcome, our double room (9) was a little on the small side but perfect for our stay and the Air conditioning was refreshing, it was very clean. We dined in the Hotel Restaurant and had one of the best meals for a long time so would highly recommend. We slept well. At Breakfast there was a good choice and was good quality. Would definitely stay again.

A lovely hotel for both business and recreation in my view. Well appointed rooms with lovely fluffy towels. Delicious food in the restaurant. A wonderful breakfast which set me up well for the day ahead and kept me full all day. Polite and helpful staff I would recommend this hotel.

Wow. What an amazing restaurant in the JD Young Hotel. You enter to a fabulous Interior. Service was swift and very efficient throughout. Yes the meal prices are a bit more expensive but the quality of presentation and food was top notch. Something on the menu for everyone. I had a super food salad with chicken which included couscous, beetroot, crispy kale, sweet potato, carrot puree etc. Oh it was so delicious. My party had a beef stir fry, Thai green curry and chicken with mushrooms in a sauce with seasonal veg. We managed a sweet. I had creme brulee and the 2 men had large savings of jam roll poly. It was all very delicious everyone said. Definitely will go back for special occasion. Amazing all round, food and service was impeccable.

We went for afternoon tea for my birthday. The service was excellent. The choice of food was not so good. We all would have preferred more savoury bites instead of very sweet cakes. It's a shame you can't choose the proportions of sweet and savory. I still enjoyed my birthday treat.

Disappointing- lovely ambience in the restaurant let down by the cheffing - ordered Rib of Beef, supposed to be served with pickled mushrooms, and kale but none appeared - given overcooked stringy asparagus cooked long ago and then griddled to make sure it was dead, it looked very sad draped over the plate. Beef was tough. Not worth Β£19.95 - chef(s) have let the Hotel down. Stick to quick burgers and steaks. Given 25% off and a free pint but did not make up for the disappointment of the cooking.

Had Sunday lunch here, having decided to go on the spur of the moment. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was very good and excellent value. We live 12 miles away but I'm sure we'll be eating here again.
