Lovely hosts, good location other guests let it down with the shared bathrooms toilets weren't flushed multiple times people shaving in shared sink and leaving hair everywhere, unfortunately couldn't stay for breakfast
A beautiful 200yr old house which has been superbly restored by our host Tim. Our room was excellent, and we were DELIGHTED by the delicious Thai food made in house by Viv - we would happily return just for the food. Thank you Tim and Vivi.
Beautiful house. Clean and tidy. Unfortunately made to feel very unwelcome and told to leave in a rude manner by Tim. Myself and my friend stayed in room 6. We arrived on Sunday afternoon our room we were told was not ready, it really didn't matter as we loved the house. We slept well, l had the single bed my friend the double. We left the room as we found it clean and tidy on the Monday morning. We had breakfast at 10.15am in the kitchen and at 10.55 Tim entered the kitchen asking us to leave at 11am and asked if he could go into our room to clean it to which l said yes of course as we had left the room and our suitcases etc were downstairs ready to go. We were then told we should he told him ( Tim)we had left our room and that the store cleaning cupboard was in our room. We were finishing our cup of tea and the way we were spoken to was in a rude tone. We never got asked if we had enjoyed our stay, slept well or how did we find breakfast. We washed up our breakfast cups and plates and the way were were treated totally ruined the stay. We had done nothing wrong at all. Felt to feel very uncomfortable and not welcome. I was so shocked l didn't really say anything ar the time but so wished l had. We left at 11.02am. We had caused no trouble at all made no mess, or still been in our room after 11am. If that was the case then yes the owner has every right to speak in that tone. But we had done none of the above. It left a bitter taste and it puzzled us to why we were spoken to like that and told you have to be off the premises at 11am!! I would like to hear back from Tim. With the rave reviews we were so looking forward to our stay and we had a lovely time....but the morning left us feeling very unhappy. Rachel
Myself and my colleagues stayed here while working away, Tim warmly welcomed us and was very hospitable. Sorted us out with a proper cooked brekkie, rooms were lovely, and the shower was out of this world. Would come here again for a non-work related trip to relax and enjoy the peaceful countryside.
There where 7 of us who stayed here due to working away. Very nice and tidy room was perfect nick bent over backwards for us even cooked us breakfast before we went to work. Would highly recommend to anyone could not ask for much better. Thanks nick
Fantastic large house for a big family gathering. The undercover BBQ area was perfect for a wet autumn evening, and toasty warm with the outside log burner. Tim the host was very accommodating.
What an amazing find. Nick the host is fantastic and makes you very welcome. Relaxed atmosphere. Great night's sleep. Amazing breakfast too. Evening meal at local pubs are a bit hit/miss at the moment (you will need to phone around to find one serving food). Our room and bathroom was fantastic. A must-stay place. Only downside is finding the place a little challenging and the parking is very tight.
Great rooms and a lovely host! Could not do enough to help us, and made our overnight stay very enjoyable. The roll top bath was a delightful surprise too! Highly recommend.
