Not even sure where to start. Just got back from Toby Carvery AndrsnDrv Aberdeen 17/12/25, arrived at 19:30, looked around seen about 5 tables with people at the tables, we got seated quickly, got asked if we wanted drinks, '2 refills', about 15mins later came back with 2 glasses, never said anything never asked if ready to order. Put the glasses down and went away. The guy seemed to be the only waiter on and a blonde lady at the bar, who the two of them were speaking to. So I looked around seen multiple tables with dirty plates cups still there on tables from god knows when. Then one of the tables beside us said, 'you'll be lucky to be served we've been here 30mins and nothing'. Couple of customers were walking about with menus trying to find someone to take their order. I finally got the attention of the young waiter, and said, 'we are ready to order' he responded, 'well if it's the carvery go up', What if we wanted starters, or wanted something other than that? We finally go up to carvery get some food, head back and have our carvery. I got up to get more drink, and still see plates and cups on tables. I then goes back to my table and see the waiter sitting at the bar speaking to the women at the bar serving, both doing nothing. We decided we wanted dessert as a wee treat, never saw the waiter at all for god knows how long. Now 20:20, and seen the waiter taking credit card machine to people's tables and then swerving people who tried to get his attention. We finally got his attention about 20:40 and came back and paid at 20:45. The guy had no care for dishes, cleanliness, customers or anything. Didn't even ask how anyone's meal was just did one task, then back to the bar. The thing is you were lucky if there was 7 tables in total, but to not ask how meal is, or see our plates and say can I get you anything else, or 'it's a carvery just go up'. Can't just assume people want a carvery. Shocking all round experience. I certainly won't be back here in a rush any time soon. Shockingly bad.

Really hard to find fault in an honest, good value and hearty Sunday carvery. Delicious food, warm atmosphere and very child friendly. Play are is also fantastic for the kids. Had a little issue with the soft drink machine but was sorted promptly by staff so no complaints. Will definitely make it a regular trip when driving through Aberdeen.

Went for a carvery at lunch today (26/11/25) our server Kirsty was phenomenal from the moment we entered until the moment we left. Very attentive and went above and beyond to keep my 2 year old son happy and smiling! Only downer was the portion size of the meat on the carvery, I went for the pork, gammon and beef, each slice of meat was wafer thin and could fit in the palm of my hand, luckily there were plenty of sides to fill up on otherwise I would have left there still hungry!

I haven’t been to a Toby for a long time. This place is nicely set out, was generally not too busy and we were welcomed and served quickly. The chef took us to the table and offered us drinks, which is unusual, but great to avoid us waiting at all, he’s obviously not a waiter so if someone who’s never visited before doesn’t know what’s what, then they might be waiting for someone to tell them. We went straight up for the carvery, there were other menus available. Staff returned and checked on how everything was and offered us anything else we wanted. The food portion size was good, the meat was tasty and generally the food was tasty. Some of the food had been there a while, as the parsnips were blackening and the carrots appeared to be drying out. But the choice was great and the potatoes too. We will go back, but a slight improvement in the carvery would make it amazing

We had the carvery. The food was all cold, especially the gravy. Lots of fat on the meat that was placed on both mine and my mum's plate - very little actual meat we could eat. My brother chose the ultimate carvery, which on the menu said came with 2 Yorkshire puddings. He was only given one, and when he queried this he was told rather rudely he only got one with the ultimate carvery. The diet Pepsi came out of the soda machine like fizzy water. We told a server, but we hadn't noticed it being fixed before we finished our lunch and left. We also told a server about the food being cold, she said she would pass it on to the kitchen but later we mentioned it to another member of staff and they sounded surprised- it clearly hadn't been passed on. Definitely not a good experience in terms of service, quality of food, or value for money. We went elsewhere for dessert.

Great place to have a bite to eat. Plenty of choices. Very welcoming and fantastic friendly service.

The plate size is a bit smaller than i remember from the previous carvery meals i have had a year or more ago. The carvery had three sorts of meats to choose from also turkey very large yorkshire puddings nice amount of vegetables. Pudding selections were very varied even with the set meal option

Got there in the rain. Not a huge variety of food that caters for everybody but for the Scottish people lots of their traditional foods. I enjoyed the eggs bacon and pork sausages though. Bit of confusion though with the coffee if it was included in the buffet or not. Overall not bad.

Toby carvery is one of our favourite places to eat. It suits our eating habits and is generally good quality food so unless there is something wrong they tend to get 5 stars from me. In this case most things were good , it wasn't too busy, we were seated quickly, and the staff we attentive but not overly so. The food, however, seemed like it had been sitting out for a while and as food is the main reason to visit this lost them 2 stars this time around.
