   We had our Christmas Meal at The Fox & Hounds, Theale and were really pleased with the whole experience... their online booking system made making all the arrangements so straightforward, the level of contact in the run-up to the meal was very helpful.. on the day, they confirmed our booking and everything was ready for our arrival.. very attentive service throughout for a large group... and to sum up the amazing level of customer service, one of our party left behind their jumper which the pub telephoned to let us know... overall, The Fox & Hounds, Theale is a fantastic pub, and if they're on the menu - you must try the Scotch Egg of the week - delish!

   A really lovely pub with terrific food at a not too expensive price . Our server Emily was really nice and friendly and the pub was nicely decorated for Christmas . Big car park includes ev charging. One of the nicest pub meals we have had with hand made pies and lovely tasty veggies etc . Would highly recommend. Tiny downside a quiz night taking place was a little noisy but didn’t spoil it.

   We had a fantastic evening celebrating our annual Christmas meal with 18 colleagues. The food was outstanding, the pub looked beautifully festive, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. The whole experience - from the booking process right through to the evening itself - was faultless. Chris and his team were superb, and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

   Fox and hounds is a regular spot for me and the family. The staff there are lovely and the food is amazing. Would definitely recommend, it is beautiful inside, especially around Christmas time, with lights all over. Emily and all the staff are very welcoming

   If you like remote and dog friendly, this is ideal. Google maps took us down some country lanes and over a single way bridge, on the map the pub shows pretty much on an island surrounded by country parks & lakes. The location is nice. Car park has about 30 spaces & I think 2 electric car chargers. The pub was pretty quiet when we arrived and the locals/staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The pub itself has a lovely interior. To the food, we had the vegan burger, bacon and cheese burger and the childs fish goujons. All very nice and well portioned. For dessert we had the rhubarb crumble with vanilla and vegan ice cream, finished off the meal perfectly.

   The food here is always excellent. Huge roast dinner portions. The Butcombe Gold is fabulous, with several other ales on tap. Comfy surroundings. Option for a walk around the Lake reserve opposite.

   We sought out this restaurant with the high hopes for a good dinner. However, we were seated next to a table of eight patrons who had just received their food. I heard them complain about their food and after speaking with them I learned that NONE of them was happy with their meal. Their meals consisted of: Fish & Chips, Chicken Burger, Chicken Pie, Macaroni & Cheese and few other items... At this point we decided to pay for the one glass of wine my wife ordered and go elsewhere for dinner. While paying for the wine I told the person in charge of the restaurant the reason we are leaving because the eight customers adjacent to our table weren't happy with their food... I told her that was a really sad occurrence. The restaurant looked very nice from the outside and had nice/casual atmosphere on the inside. It's disheartening to see a place like this not taking pride in the food they serve.

   Enjoyed this dog friendly pub alot. The food was excellent and they brew their own beer (Butcombe). Location was great for us as we were on a narrowboat on the River Kennet which only took ten minutes to walk from our mooring. I had calamari for starters and the pea & shallot tortelloni and my wife had fish and chips! All delicious especially the calamari which was perfect! If you're in the area you must pay this place a visit!

   Father’s Day roast dinner, booked last minute. The roast beef meal was really good, beef tender and good flavour, fresh vegetables and sumptuous Yorkshire puddings. Very roomy, comfortable pub restaurant with a warm welcome. We were served by Kim who looked after us well and gave ‘dad’ a pressie of £5 voucher to use on next visit. Will definitely go back.
