Lovely hotel with modern rooms. Pretty good for a one night stay but a few points of feedback would make it a better experience: 1. There are phones in the room but no information on which numbers you can dial to reach reception during the day time. 2. Breakfast variety and quality should be improved. Much of the hot breakfast was quite overcooked, several times I tried to get fried eggs and each time the yolk was solid. There was also not much on offer for vegetarians. At a hotel like this I would be expecting a breakfast made to order, would vastly improve the quality of the hot breakfast quality. 3. Breakfast buffet plates were so hot they scalded my hands. I understand the plates should be warm when in the warmer but it cannot be so hot that a client burns their hands attempting to hold the plate while putting in their breakfast. 4. Milk left out in jugs on individual tables. I believe this is probably done to improve the pace of service but on many tables, including my own there were bits floating in the milk which is very unpleasant. Much better to provide milk on request or only pour once clients are seated to prevent the wastage. 5. TVs in rooms didn’t have streaming services and the remote was faulty. Most hotels I stay in all have the option to log into my own Netflix account, this is pretty standard. However the rooms do not have TVs capable of this which is a bit of a let down. In addition the remotes weren’t working properly which made it pretty annoying to faff around with.

I couldn’t fault the place. There was plenty of parking outside, and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful if they tried. I booked in for an evening meal and it was lovely. My stay included a room-and-breakfast deal, and the breakfast selection was phenomenal—everything from a fully cooked breakfast to fresh fruit, yogurts, toast, tea, fresh pastries, and cereals. I didn’t use the spa facilities, but if they’re anything like the rest of the hotel, I’d say they’re going to be pretty good.

Disappointing spa day! I booked a spa package for myself and two of my friends as a way to relax before our upcoming exams at university. This included an hour massage, light lunch and use of facilities for £120pp. When we arrived, the woman was very rude stating that we were 20 minutes late for our treatment, even though we had not specified a time. I had only received a confirmation email about my booking and said that “all treatment times would be allocated on arrival”. So this was rather disappointing as we only received 30 minutes of our treatment. Thankfully they allowed us to have the remaining treatment time on another location as we had paid for this but to be honest this incident did impact on our relaxing day. The leisure facilities were very run down and untidy, with kids swimming lessons going on in the same area, this did not make for a very relaxing environment, especially on a Saturday. Jacuzzi was very dirty. There are much nicer places with prices that are probably more affordable. The lunch experience was also a bit disappointing, we were told to wait in the drawing room, service was very slow. We asked to move into the dining room to have a more comfortable place to eat and it took a while for this to be set up, this was at 12:30. Food was very nice and filling but the time it took for drinks to arrive was very long. It was also very unclear as to what was included in our lunch for the spa package and staff seemed unsure about this as well. In the nicest way possible it felt like it was everyone’s first day on the job. Would not recommend paying premium prices for a below standard service. I really do not like to leave bad reviews but I feel it is necessary as I would hate for someone else to waste their money. Please can this feedback be taken on to ensure others do not have experience a day like this!

My daughter got married at Ardo on Saturday 8 November. From start to finish nothing could be faulted. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the grounds and rooms lovely and the meals delicious. Eilidh, the wedding coordinator, organised everything to perfection.

My wife and I recently got married in Ardoe House hotel and from start to finish they absolutely exceeded our expectations with regards to the service and venue that was provided. Eilidh and Sandra from the wedding co-ordinator side were friendly, approachable and extremely helpful throughout the process and always responded to communications and requests quickly. On the day the hotel staff were extremely efficient and setting up and moving all the set ups around between the ceremony, drinks reception and evening events so that the guests didn't even know it was happening. The food was beautiful and served quickly between courses and the setting itself is fantastic. The hotel also provided a master of ceremonies, Norman, who did a fantastic job of guiding our guests through the day and making sure we all stayed on time for the day's itinerary. The hotel offered a few different options for the bridal suite and we stayed in devenick room which was great. Overall I'd highly recommend the venue for a wedding, thanks again team at Ardoe.

Overall enjoyed our nights stay. Evening meal was good although drinks are a bit pricey for what you get, good selections for breakfast from cooked to continental. Special mention has to go to the spa team they were all so pleasant and welcoming (unfortunately didn’t catch any names) the young blonde lady was so lovely and informative, while I was swimming there was a young man cleaning the whole pool floor. It’s nice to see they look after their facilities. Will be back!

My wife and my self had a great experience here. It is worth pointing out that the hotel is built against a steep hill so the top floor is connected to the ground by a link walkway. This makes fire safety a lot easier for wheelchair users, the hotel doesn’t have any fire evacuation chairs as they are not needed. The food was just as you would expect from a hotel of this pedigree and I would highly recommend it. There were a few cosmetic maintenance issues that were surprising, for example there had been a water leak in the ceiling of the lounge that hadn’t been fully repaired but non of these problems affected our stay.

Stayed one night Hotel looks great inside and out and is a great location. Rooms were fantastic, big clean with modern fixtures and fittings. Food was average, I had a burger and chips which was too salty. Bar service was really slow had to queue for about ten minutes

Rooms are OK, Dinner was excellent. The original building is lovely with all the period features. Spa was OK but could do with a bit of updating. Gym was surprisingly well equipped. Enjoyed our stay but the place could do with some freshening up.

Achieves everything it sets out to achieve, a former Baronial Manor in beautiful grounds. Excellent rooms (NB. Some are a lengthy walk from reception for those mobility issues) and really comfortable beds. A wonderful Reception area with a large open log fire. The Breakfast fare is of the highest quality with something to suit every taste. All the staff are professional and very helpful, my stay was beyond reproach.
