Food was shambles. Poor food quality . Tasted like frozen food heated in a microwave. Nachos were a disaster. Food prep looked like someone simply squirted store bought guacamole, salsa, cheese, and sour cream on the chips. Mini Grill plate was bizarre. Egg on pineapple? The best item ordered was the pint Of Guinness. Service was slow. Lackadaisical staff

It was a very busy Xmas lunch day, (Sunday 14th Dec) the staff were very very busy. The lady running the bar was the first point of contact and took the brunt of moans and groans from the customers. It took ages to get shown our table, but we could see how stretched the staff were. There were 3 staff on duty to look after a packed restaurant, serve food and clear plates, as well as run the bar area. I love this pub, always, including this visit, had the best customer service. But please help the staff out and put extra on shift, I would hate to see you lose these wonderful people due to being overstretched and basically not giving the customer service they want to Thanks again to those three ladies, you rocked it xxxxxx

Pretty awful experience. Disinterested staff (especially the two older ladies that served us), average quality food that tasted bland and cheap, and dirty toilets. There's dust and cobwebs everywhere across the wooden beams in this place (alongside the dust and dirt on the ornaments and pictures), how about you get a duster out and clean properly? Overall experience was poor and I cannot recommend, and I will not be returning.

My first time in this establishment and four of us had meals from the breakfast menu. The meals were generously portioned and freshly cooked. The breakfasts are presented in varying formats and can be chosen according to your own appetite. The pricing is fair and the staff were friendly, attentive and eager to make our dining experience a good one. The prices were very good considering the quality and quantity and I would be happy to revisit.

Had an absolutely delicious meal at Shamblehurst with my parents, wife and child. Very family friendly. Lovely food which was very reasonably priced! We were also extra lucky to happen to go when they had a magician entertaining the guests! Thoroughly recommended.

Shamblehurst Barn is a lovely old structure with some really interesting decor. It is at heart a chain pub, so the food comes from this chain menu -acceptable, fairly consistent but not great. It is always hard getting a steak cooked with no pink, but also not cremated, and our visit here was no different. The steak was still too pink after a second cook and I then gave up. The other meal and the drinks were fine. The service of the food and condiments was great, friendly and helpful, but the welcome when we walked in, was luke-warm at best - Us: We are a bit early, we have a booking for 12 3 chatting servers look over and without taking our name 1 waves a hand: Take any table you like And with that they went back to chatting. Having waited a bit to see if there was table service we decided there probably was not, and went to the bar to order. If you know the rules, and have a favourite meal that you know they will cook well, this is probably a nice atmospheric pub to visit.

When i eventually got served by a very busy barman i ordered drinks, then after looking at the menu i had to wait a while again to get served i was told that there were about seven meals unavailable but managed to get something in the end. After waiting forty five minutes we got our meals but had to ask for cutlery and condiments. Whilst there i needed the toilet only to be faced with a disgusting site that i know has been like this for weeks. 100% of urinals out of use, 50% of basins in use and the one and only cubical was disgusting. I will not ever be going back there and would recommend the same to anyone else.

Chicken was awful! Staff didn't care about their customer's and didn't check on us until table was cleared! No cutlery brought with food, no napkins or condiments. Freezer and backup freezer had broken down so no ice-cream for dessert! Main meal had no jacket potatoes or any veg as alternative for GF. Piled plate up with enough salad for a goat! Tea was awful! Good latte! Table of 6! Very dissapointing as this place had an amazing reputation back in the day! Will not return....waste of money!
