I have visited the New Peking Chef, on and off, for years. I'd recommend it. Chinese & Malaysian takeaway food is great. Fish and chips usually good (very rarely been slightly undercooked). Friendly people.

First time visit, the chips and noodles were the only good thing. The satay chicken was smothered in bits and too hard, the mini spring rolls were literally tiny. Think we’re stick to our local golden dragon as food is much better quality and for better price

This is probably my favourite chinese takeaway, always very friendly and helpful. Meets dietary requirements such as gluten-free. Food tastes great and is always high quality. It feels like such a welcoming place, e.g. We once went there wanting fish and chips, but it said "no fish and chips, fryer is broken." We went in and said,"we were going to order fish and chips, but we see the fryer broke." She thought for a second and said, "No, you're regular, we make especially for you." This really made my day, and as a bonus, every time it's someone's birthday and we go, they give us fortune cookies for free!

I must admit that I generally used this place for their Chinese takeout rather than fish and chips because I thought there were better options. But I used them a short while ago on a Sunday because they were the only chippy open. I was very impressed with the quality and quantity and the batter on the fish was crispy and not too heavy. I tried them again last night and was equally impressed. My only criticism would be that they don't serve haddock, but I will forgive them this because the cod is equally yummy. So I have used them twice recently and enjoyed some superb fish and chips

Visited here twice now and have loved it both times! Price is fair compared to other places. We have collected both times and when we have arrived it is always ready. Food is always cooked well! This will be our new go-to!

We come here quite often for either Chinese of fish’n’chips and find it a little inconsistent (mainly the Chinese). Generally I’m happy and it’s nearby and convenient for us so we keep coming back. A number of times I’ve had some poor service from the young counter staff. Nothing too awful but utterly indifferent and you get the feeling that customers are an inconvenience. There’s a minimum charge of £10 for card. There’s a cash machine 30s walk away but if you just want some chips and only have your phone, you’re out of luck.

Tasty Chinese food cooked to order. Their salt and pepper squid is delicious. They also do quality fish and chips.

This is our preferred local takeaway, we love the variety on offer, the chips are always good and any dish that says “chilli” is just spicy enough for us (try the crispy chilli chicken - it’s good!) The chicken nuggets keep our fussy kids happy too. If you collect, the food is pretty much always ready within 10-15 minutes and there is loads of free easy parking
